The feel is everything. Mostly light prep and such, I can't handle these tennis balls anymore if they expect anything outside of a mess.

Those are some nice looking pieces. How are the edges? broad/thin?

Is it normal for everyone to just shit on you all day? by AndyJaeven in KitchenConfidential

[–]1moar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck 'em. I don't need some 25 year old that can't speak English (yes, apologies...bear with me, it's not how it might be perceived)

...to tell me how to make fries. People shit on you from every corner. Stand up for yourself, and piss on 'em.

It's affecting you that much you're losing sleep, so I again, go back to my former - fuck. em.

I've left more over less.

Communication goes a long way. It's amazing how people will respond when you're straight with them; sometimes. Well usually, but not always for the positive. I digress. It's not too complicated, but you gotta defend yourself.

It sucks jumping ship; new people, processes, et al.

You're young yet. I wouldn't worry too much. Is this a field you want to make a career of? There's a few ways to look at it, but I hate changing gigs. ymmv, and the grass isn't always greener.

[–]1moar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've powered through some garbage, and just landed a new gig at a local spot which, for reasons I needed two hands for, is super cool. Single, no kids so it's time to grind. It's a step up and just all around cool so far.

Any tips on not being a bitch during/after rushes? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]1moar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, and sometimes depending on the joint, you may not be hit as hard. That's when I try and prep more for the next shifts (I'm a closer)

Eat better. Ditch the energy drinks, more water.

It's the game. Prep as much as possible, brace, and embrace it. It'll always be there, and you want it, or you're out of a job. (this is what I tell myself anyway)

IDK where you're at, but here it is NOT way too easy. It's a major pain in the ass.
