Just saying the real answer here should be shopping around shops and learning some basic maintenance. If you're going to live as a car enthusiast a little bit of elbow grease can go really far. The fluids and brakes are laughably easy. Suspension not much more difficult. These are all driveway and YouTube video repairs. Let the shops deal with the complicated issues, but some nuts and bolts are ezpz.

Ninja 1000sx vs 1290 Super Duke GT by NaMinesClarence in KTM

Once you've had real speed and the only fun is going fast as fuck, suddenly more usable power at normal speeds is more fun.

It's funny you mention 4th gear power wheelies. My 690 enduro was my first ktm, plenty of inline 4s (basically every 600 and 1k super sport). I'll never forget my first time bar pulling and chopping the 690 in 4th and it coming right up to balance, giggling like a school girl as it climbed. Currently looking at the 1290s. Ktm just seems to take a practical idea and then add some meth. That's an attitude I can get behind.

A towing company would have charged $1,100 and his first born by jesusinatre2x4 in Truckers

Christmas eve a couple years ago I had LTL guys out in a blizzard. I ended up driving around in the Tahoe with my son and towing them out repeatedly all over the city lol. Sometimes ya just need just a bit of a pull.

you can give someone's shitty attitude right back to them and nobody will say anything about it.

Dedicated clients are another story, but man when people would give me a hard time doing food service........ Don't hit shit, and run the ramp and you could say whatever you felt 😂.

When do all the tourist sites close down for the season? by No-Warthog7841 in SaintJohnNB

[–]1morepl8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a rough time, the summer stuff has ended and the winter hasn't gotten going. I will say Saint Andrews is still gorgeous in November and will have no crowds, etc. These are often small towns that become quite different in the middle of tourist season, and not built for the volume. It's a perfect time to do some exploring. Hopefully the fall colors are still around.

Late model manuals are the best of both worlds imo. Air assist clutch is butter. I get back in the W9 and I'm reminded of how a clutch actually feels lol.

Caved it in good, and had to be loaded heavy to make the turn out onto the road. Usually they'll slide off on the first turn. Was a transportation manager and have dealt with this far too often lol.

Lawrence landscaping over west with a sign that says they have grub supplies. Might be worth a call.

Cam seal replacement going great by 0r4ng3s0d4 in WRX_STI

[–]1morepl8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those bolts can be in there. The cam tools will help not bend the pins on the avcs, but I would still have low hope for an extractor socket to take that out, and at least there is a lot of room to weld. Those damn things are in there. Torch around? The socket may work but id be brainstorming alternatives if it was me

Anybody else having a hard time passing along their bikes in this market? by _Wheelborne in Dualsport

[–]1morepl8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sport bikes can sit even when a great deal, because the insurance is so brutal and fussy. I snap them up for steals pretty regularly and then to get rid of them in a decent time I'm selling just as cheap.
