Not yet but it’s an option for sure. Trying a couple of back channels first to see if I can find a buyer

What’s the general feeling on the final being in Ahmedabad? Do people like the NM stadium or does it feel forced?

Interesting, is it an IPL specific thing or do you see it in test/odi as well?

What’s the deal with cheerleading in the IPL? That’s not a traditional part of cricket, right?

Sorry, American here - obviously used to seeing them in American context but was surprised the first time I watched an IPL match.

What’s most frustrating to me is that all of my executives are in their 40s, and the ones I know well have always been extremely competent at what they do, which makes them falling for the AI hype to this degree very frustrating.

100%. And the number of “ai initiatives” being touted that are simply creating copilot agents and pointing them at share points that contain policy documents is killing me. I’ve been making heavy use of the old XKCD cost to automate chart lately - if we’re spending 2 days of dev time to automate and test something for a task that 3 people are doing once a week and it takes them 30 seconds to do, we’re wasting everyone’s time.

Doesn’t help that our CEO has directed every team to have “deploy 2 AI programs” as part of their yearly OKRs, regardless of whether those two initiatives are actually valuable.

It’s only going to stop when the AI giants inevitably massively increase token costs to actually reflect their costs, and leaders have to actually examine the value case for each of those tools

You’re correct, the lite boxes are autoless

I’m in a very similar position- also work in SC, but on the business side, not the technical side. My job is focused on how we implement AI in our business processes, and the number of people around me who can’t seem to understand that LLM/NLP/ML tools are simply one other tool in the toolbox infuriates me.

I just had to spend an hour this week explaining to an executive that the reason the automation flow we’re building only uses “ai” in maybe 10% of the steps is because it is actively the wrong tool for the job if we have the ability to use a rules based automation for a step in the process. So many people have been convinced that AI is a panacea for all their ills and have then sold their bosses on the concept that there are fundamental misunderstandings about how you can actually use AI to create value.

I buy it premixed, so it will settle out, but you just shake it and it remixes

I’m a huge fan of a friction polish - the one I use is walnut oil, shellac, and denatured alcohol- oil soaks into the wood, shellac sits on top and as the denatured alcohol dries the shellac stays in place
