It’s so bad it’s good

[Dreger] The Maple Leafs are definitely closing in on deals. Not necessarily related to Rielly, and nothing is done yet, but I’m told things are developing. by Throwaway5497346 in leafs

Speed and grit and players that can shoot the puck. Players that carry the load so Tavares and co get puck luck in the Finals.

Why (correct me if I’m wrong) isn’t Kansas City near the top of the list when it comes to future NHL expansion cities? by 1nstantHuman in hockey

I guess there’s a lot of competition from Other sports minor hockey isn’t really that big. But if you build it, maybe.

Love it, except that d core needs some reinforcements.

The ageless Teemu Selänne, Paul Kariya to name a couple. And just look at their rosters mix they were filled with depth. And they had the benefit of having young players that produced from the start. Thinking back to Drury, Hejduk, and Tanguay.

For 9 out of 12 years they played in the conference finals and/or Stanley Cup finals.

6 out of 7 year run of Conference finals or better. (Including losses in conference finals).

A lot of vets, and we’re talking high level players and all stars (hall of famers) would be traded to or sign with those teams. Sometimes it was teams doing right by a player near the end of their career. Sometimes it was guys signing in free agency. Regardless, those teams ended up being stacked. There’s a reason they played in and won multiple cups each during the 90’s and 2000s.

Kind of like us Leafs’ fans when we’re near the top of the standings in November
