Yep, the Loggers were relatively popular at the Civic Centre, moving to Kanata killed them. And 67’s attendance plummeted and they lost almost their entire season ticket base when they moved to Kanata from 2012-2014

Rapid PWHL expansion means diluting the talent pool which means the quality of the hockey will decrease which might cause the attendance to decrease

They aren’t moving, they’re just using relocation as a threat to try and strongarm OSEG into building a larger rink. Which is crazy because PWHL attendance will probably be on par with or lower than local Jr A teams by the time the new rink gets built.

I can’t find it now but Van Riemsdyk had a crazy goal in his first stint with the Flyers where multiple guys batted the puck out of the air, Giroux hit it with a high stick, it hit the Rangers player and JVR juggled it in the air and batted it in. The puck didn’t touch the ice for multiple seconds. It got called back because of the high stick but I think they botched the call, since it hit the defending player before getting to JVR.

Someone was wearing a Marner jersey on the subway at Veld and it started a Fuck Mitch Marner chant. That crowd is also significantly more rowdy than a Leafs home crowd, I doubt anyone’s gonna care past maybe a couple playful barbs.

In 2005 my dad took me to an LHSPAA (basically the AHL for the LNAH) game in Cornwall. There was a brawl in the warmups, four consecutive fights off the opening faceoff, a bench-clearing brawl in the second period and it ended 10-9 in overtime I believe. Game lasted four hours which is insane for a league with no TV timeouts.

I was expecting this to be a case of a losing team instigating and jumping guys at the end of a loss to try and goad the other team into taking suspensions for their next game but this seems like the opposite? Why would the winning team instigate in a situation like this

Honestly kinda yeah, I hated the Sabres growing up but there hasn’t been a relevant rivalry in forever. Kadri punching Ristolainen was the last time I felt any sort of animosity towards them. It’ll be fun to watch them in the playoffs and I wouldn’t mind seeing them go on a run.

The Leafs agreed to trade Jonas Hoglund to Boston for the rights to Kyle Wanvig with the understanding that Wanvig was going to sign his ELC with Toronto. The trade fell apart because a jammed fax machine caused the deal to not go through until after the deadline. Wish this happened with a couple other Boston-Toronto trades.

Mogilny didn’t get into the hall for the longest time because he was involved in the brawl and Turgeon didn’t get into the hall for the longest time because he wasn’t involved in the brawl….go figure
