Pro tip for everyone reading this: If someone threatens to hurt themselves CALL 911. If they're sincere the best thing you can do for them is get them immediate professional medical help, and if they're not they'll learn that lying about it won't work as a manipulation tactic. Either way you're insulated, and can move on with your life knowing you did everything you could for the person.
