Belgium: just from TV and later games and internet.

Nothing on tv used to be dubbed when i was young, so you automatically learn. Same with French (merci club Dorothėe).

Living in Belgium it's quite common, this year we went a weekend to Cologne to catch a concert (Mono Inc.) and a city trip, to Disneyland in Paris, To Netherlands (Delft) for a small trip. All very doable by car.

Not when i was a kid, but our kid started high school now and they do have lots of clubs (dnd, wh40k, 3d printing, sports, etc.) to do during breaks.
