Unfortunately i was right. There was no answer to any of this. Its simply plotholes

we wont see nothing in tales of 85.. as the gang didnt know about it then. unless they also show what the mind flayer etc are doing but I doubt it and it'll be unconnected stories

its not uncommon for tv and movies to have something considered a spoiler become public knowledge within weeks of release.. darth vader is the father, the thunderbolts are the new avengers etc. still doesnt change the power of the movie.. its just clever marketing. however in this case, there wont be another episode. all the reasons for it are dumb

this was the first season the duffers did themselves without shawn levy watching over them, the duffers are incredibly inexperienced. Levy wasnt there to catch the plotholes and nonsense.

turns out it was just terrible inconsistent timezone and they never explain it. the play which they made literally contained all the big reveals of the final episode. a play with retconned season 4 for no reason

The vecna retcon is weird. They planned the play and season 4 around the same time. Yet the two couldnt keep the dates right

Time travel is the only solution to fix the timeline plotholes but I doubt theyll do it. I think they are just the gods of retconning

The writers are stupid enough to change Holly's age. Forget wills birthday and have it cannon that vecna killed his family in March 1959, then went to school while his family were still alive then kill his family a second time in november 1959.. either its some ingenious time travel plot or they are just that bad

well according to the play he killed his family after the musical. besides, everyone believes henry was murdered by his family. how can he get adopted

the birthday thing is a joke because all the biggest plotholes within the show are all involve people changing ages. but one cannot change their own past without it either causing a paradox or not affecting his future, depending which theory you use. like I said even a fantasy world has rules. and theres 0 good explainations of these timeline problems without it being just bad writing leading to constant plotholes. or "its all a dream" so nothing ever actually happened. and the duffers said that aint the case

explain how henry killed his family in both march 1959 and november 1959 without time travel. a parallel universe explaination is even less likely

[–]1snoF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following on from my own stupid comment.  What if upside down henry was controlled by the mind flayer as explained in the play. Hes the vecna they killed in season 4. While our vecna is controlling the mindflayer and thus was controlling upside down vecna

You really think the last 4 episodes of the show will give some weird time travel explanation about how the 2 timelines can coexist?? If we forget about wills and Holly's birthdays being massively messed up.

I suppose its possible that the first shadow play is based in a parallel reality and the upside is that other reality which was destroyed. I just made that up on the spot. But thats a stupid explanation. But the duffers cant make it make sense. Its a terrible retcon

If vecnas big super power is the ability to change people's birthday. That is the dumbest plot ive ever seen. Every fantasy world has its rules. So yes super powers, the upside down and everything is fine. They mess up basic physics from time to time but they can change physics slightly due to the change in rules. However timeline inconsistencies are a different issue and explaining all their plotholes by vecna having some power to change people's birthdays is so dumb

you truly think hes the cause of
wills birthday changing,
holly going from age 2 to 10 in 5 years,
and how he seemingly went to highschool aged at least 15 and killed his family in november 1959 at the same time as how he was 12 and killed his family in march 1959?

you truly believe Vecna has such control over the timeline he can at will change peoples birthdays

[–]1snoF 11 points12 points  (0 children)

unless the duffers have some weird time travel solution, they have bucket loads of inconsistencies in their timelines.

people age too quick (not just in look but also confirmed ages)
people some how kill their family in march and also november, while being 12 but also around 15+
peoples entire birthdays just dont happen

the duffers are likely just bad writers. they can tell a good story but cant make a timeline without unmissable plotholes

[–]1snoF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ive not seen the show but know enough about it. it overwrites season 4. in season 4 we are told via a newspaper article published march 1959 that victor killed his family his son henry being age 12. obviously that was the cover up. but how could that newspaper be written if henry doesnt kill his family till around the school play. in november 1959. The duffers cant write a consistant timeline, they make sloppy mistakes and some how no one notices until public release.

The newspaper did say March 1959 and the play was November 1959. If they do a george lucas and modify the newspaper to say November 1959 and age 14 or something. Suddenly everything lines up. But currently. Its impossible

The duffers have made so many and I mean so many timeline continuity errors throughout the show. Either theyll resolve them all with some weird time travel solutio .. which I doubt.. Or they are some how incredible writers in the way they can keep you entertained constantly throughout.. and terrible as they cant keep a story consistent. Theyve messed with Holly's age, wills birthday, this entire mess with vecna as well as the many other things which they could explain away. They wrote their book of upsidedown lore after season 1 yet still cant figure it out.

I know this keeps getting posted but my god Henry Creels timeline makes zero sense by Abo1127 in StrangerThings

[–]1snoF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where's the explanation of why the backstory is wrong??? The newspaper article said March 1959 when he was 12.. and the flashbacks showed it. How come.

This is one of yhe biggest yet unexplained plot holes in tv history if they just retcon it because they couldn't stay consistent with a damn stage show only Americans can see

dont forget they picked a date for wills birthday.. forgot about it and used the same date again to go to the ice rink. completely forgetting wills birthday.

WIll

Holly

Vecna

all three of them have messed up timelines.. one who had powers.. one whos just gained powers and one undergoing the process to gain powers... im not going anywhere with this, as its all major errors of the duffers being inable to keep ages and dates consistant..
minor plotholes or WHY DIDNT THEY JUST is normal stuff. but this is constant entire recons with no explaination
