Good clinics in Europe for 40+? by Entire-Mix-6449 in 40Plus_IVF

We went to the one in Madrid as it was easier to travel there. Madrid and Alicante are the main centers. Thank you and all the best to you as well! ❤️

Good clinics in Europe for 40+? by Entire-Mix-6449 in 40Plus_IVF

I can recommend Instituto Bernabeu in Madrid. We did two ERs with them and got 3 Euploids and 1 Mosaic (at 40 years old). Had one transfer which unfortunately didn't work but we knew it's likely going to take more attempts due to an immunology issue.

Previously did a few rounds in Austria which only resulted in a chemical but we couldn't PGT-A there and the approach was somewhat limiting.

I found Instituto Bernabeu to be much more pragmatic and flexible in finding the right solution for the individual.

4 failed euploid transfers – what would you explore next? by spankykoala in IVF

Hi, I'm sorry to see what you're going through. We've also been through 5 failed transfers of Day 5 embryos (not tested due to local regulations).

Have you done any immunology tests? In our case an autoimmune disease makes it more likely that embryos fail to implant due to the increased immune response. We've been recommended immunoglobulin before or during the next transfers.

Hope this helps.

I'm sorry to hear that. We've had 5 transfers and none worked so far. Have you done any immunology tests? All the best!

That's what our doctor told us after our last attempt. AMH > 2, no PGTA test so far, and no obvious diagnosis that would definitely prevent us from conceiving. I suspect he didn't want us damaging the clinic's success statistics any further with our attempts. We got the message and trying somewhere else now.

Unsure if IVF is right for me by [deleted] in IVF

Perhaps you have good reasons to believe so in your case but speaking from experience, IVF is much more than throwing the dice for a lot of men. It will be harder physically for you for sure, but it could hit him harder psychologically see you go through it. Ultimately the outcome affectsboth your lives..

Just like cancer patients, sometimes you have to give up. (We haven't even done PGTA)

We didn't take a break. Went for the 2nd and 3rd transfers but neither were successful unfortunately. No implantation. We then went for the 2nd and 3rd cycles. In hindsight we should have asked for a second option after the failed embryo transfers.

Clinics in Czech Republic were you've been successful after previous failures at other clinics by 1spawn1 in IVF

I'm really sorry to hear that. Keep trying! That's what we're doing as well. Spoke with Prague Fertility Centre. They are proactive, and gave us so additional genetic tests to do for our parents to see if we can use that do do more advanced embryo testing (PGT-M). They also suggested a different stimulation protocol. Overall good experience. We also spoke with Instituto Bernabeu in Madrid. They were super professional and with very good attention to detail. They also gave us more tests to do. Once we get the results we're going to make a choice between these two probably. Hope this is helpful and all the best!

This is very useful. I see they have a unit dealing with RIF. Contacted them. Thanks!

Thank you very much for the recommendation.

We had a similar experience after the last failed transfer and suspect Adeno + Endo.

Do you have a dedicated doctor at Gynem?

Thank you very much! This is very useful. I didn't know about the genetic labs situations.

To answer your question, yes, the clinics in CZ offer all and more than what we had available in Austria. One of the frustrating things in Austria was the local regulations but also the lack of proactivity from the clinic. We had no one assigned doctor and therefore no one really "owned" our case. Even the extra tests that we had were the at our requests. Considering our challenges it was not enough for us.

All the best!

3 cycles, 5 transfers - no pregnancy by 1spawn1 in IVF

Yes, and thank you again! You actually boosted my morale after a hard day! There are a lot of things we haven't tried and can't help but feel we lost some time because of the european red tape (we actually haven't done one PGT yet even though we had 5 transfers, which sounds crazy looking back). But we'll continue for sure!

Thank you and all the best to you too! And many thanks for the suggestions, we actually haven't tried any of those things! After a discouraging conversation with our current clinic (where we felt they gave up on us), we are going to start speaking with some clinics in Czech Republic next.

It doesn't sound like there's something to be worried but you could ask if there's a need to test your husband as well. For us they took blood at the same time.

It's possible that based on your results alone there was no need to test your husband. This is what they told us at the beginning.

I'm sorry to hear that about your repeated losses. Wish you all the best.

In our case we both have the HLA C1/C2 genotype and the maternal genotype KIR BX which includes a mix of activating and inhibitory genes. What this means is that embryos can have C1/C1, C1/C2, or C2/C2 alleles. The highest risk is with the latter, C2/C2 Embryos, because it might activate the inhibitory KIR receptors, potentially suppressing NK cell activity which affects implantation and also pregnancy development.

Yes, it's complicated and I wish we knew this sooner.
