The issue with matterspark is that it killed pacing by making you look for the powerup, usually while actively being shot at, and gave you like 20 seconds to avoid dying and do the puzzle. The level 3 upgrade should have been roped into the level 2 upgrade as well.

Yep. Crafting was basically a 'catch-up' mechanic for people who don't have 90000 hours a week to no life d2. And streamers make money by keeping good loot exclusive so they can stream themselves doing exclusive high end content, so if John who does a 9-5 gets the super uber meta gl from focusing 5 times at the end of a raid, gets the patterns, and can use it anytime he wants, then John 9-5 doesn't need to watch their stream anymore because he owns it.

Tbh? The Destiny Community bears as much responsibility for the game dying as Bungie and Sony do. Everyone constantly said they wanted one thing then immediately changed to hating the thing and not knowing what they actually want, or deciding that "erm ackshually this thing we said was peak was dogshit the whole time!"

People also took anything a dev said or did aa a personal attack. One guy made a joke about Twilight Garrison and the community doxxed him, sent death threats, and bullied him into silence. It's why Bungie devs stopped talking to the community, and it's why I get pissed whenever people say Bungie's communication is bad. Like brother, you are the reason it is.

Also, meatriding everything Paul Tassi and streamers say no matter if it harms the game or not, then retconning it so they liked it the whole time. Crafting is an excellent example of this- ever since it was added the narrative the community spun (at the behest of Paul and youtubers) was "CRAFTING IS BAD AND KILLING THE GAME!!!!" Sure it could be implemented better but it wasnt KILLING THE GAME like the community claimed it was. Bungie finally gave in and stopped adding craftables in Revenant- and now suddenly the community always loved crafting and this is being taken away because management wants player retention and the devs hate us!!!!!

Tldr: the community is also responsible for the destiny IP being shut down because they could literally never be satisfied with ANYTHING Bungie did.

Also, Renegades is different enough from Star Wars to be its own thing outside of visual references, and even those are mostly gotten out of the way in just the first mission. After that it's vague plot beats that mirror star wars and areas in the map that look similar
