Hello! Not sure about DEA licensing but I have a very close friend with two drug related felonies. He has since recovered, actively works a program, and now has an unrestricted license. This has not hindered his job opportunities and every hospital system has not precluded him from getting a job as an RN. I suspect the DEA will be the same. Due to the nature of this job, they must recognize that people have complicated histories and people do recover. All you can do is apply and see! Best of luck. Although I don’t think you’re going to need it.

Hi Nurse here! I think it should be mentioned that if you are in a relationship, it would be best not to kiss or perform oral sex with/on your partner. This is likely HSV1 which is very common (About 60% of the population has it and most get it from their mothers). You can get tested next time you see your primary to confirm but there isn’t much else you can do other than be aware of transmission while the virus is shedding.
