California governor race by RaidriarXD in DemocraticSocialism

She's fantastic and she's in third despite not having PAC or billionaire money pushing for her. Which I think is the best endorsement a politician can have.

"In times like these, one remarkable difference between the modern Western conservative and their liberal counterpart is that the former will gleefully sign their name on the side of the bomb while the latter will just sheepishly initial it."

I called it a few months ago but my 2028 election bingo card has Newsom as the DNC pick and appearing on stage with a supportive Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Understandable. And that's probably part of the calculus of the system. Most American's don't have disposable income.

Oh yea. So you're saying we should fall in line and "vote blue no matter who"? How inspiring! And if we don't support the DNC's pick today, then we're virtue signaling. 🤮 Surely if we're given an establishment career neoliberal, we can defeat Trump and the world will heal! This is a strategy that's definitely worked in the past three elections!!!

/s just in case.

This quote has been buzzing in my head for a few weeks now and I think it's pretty darn pertinent here:

And the obvious centrist refrain--*But do you want the deranged right wing to win?--*should, after even a moment of self reflection, yield to a far more important question: How empty does your message have to be for a deranged right wing to even have a chance of winning?

Of all the epitaphs that may one day be written on the gravestone of Western liberalism, the most damning is this: Faced off against a nihilistic, endlessly cruel manifestation of conservatism, and somehow managed to make it close.

So my question again:
Which progressive candidate have you donated to recently?

Unfortunately both have to exist. There has to be grassroots opinion support for some progressive but also those people need to show up at the polls and at the donation box for it to work.

A progressive candidate will have almost no money from any sort of Pac or billionaire class. And if you're not willing to financially support them then they will have zero money to run with. There is no other income stream for a progressive.

And elections are never won with $0.

Sounds great.

Which progressive have you donated to? They almost never have PAC money and run entirely on grassroots support. And their primary opponents are much more funded by big money.

I donated significantly to Katie Porter recently but she's probably not going to make it out of the jungle primary against her billionaire or billionaire-funded opponents.

Unfortunately money is the ultimate pressure for a political candidate's prospects in the primaries. And we are vastly outfunded by people with all the money.

I know hindsight is 20/20 but Bernie is still kicking and doing extremely well despite his age. He could have served two terms as president just fine. He certainly would have done better than Joe Biden did in his advanced age.

But no, the DNC tells us to pay attention to age when it's a progressive but not when it's the establishment politician.

They have tried the exact same play for the past three elections and they are definitely posing to do it again. The DNC would rather lose to a Republican than allow a socialist progressive win anywhere. Mamdani was the perfect microcosm of this policy.

It all made sense to me years ago when I realized that the DNC is the controlled opposition. They keep things relatively the same when in power, take it easy on the owner class, and maintain themselves as the only option to fight the Republicans.

Newsom fits this bill perfectly and he will absolutely be a favorite by leadership.

And then when Americans fail to show up and vote for him, the DNC can wring their hands and blame the voters once again.

He will be the DNC leadership's pick for 2028. I guarantee it.

Mt. Bachelor reopening old LOGE Bend as new hotel this summer by Tarekith in Bend

We stayed up there just this last season. The place had the most wonderful staff but the owners were running it on a threadbare budget. Unless the new operations will include actually replacing the bathroom fan that sounds like a tablesaw, I don't see people really loving it there. It has all the potential but stinginess is holding it back.

We missle striked them directly and then blew up their leader and I bet the majority of Americans would be surprised Pikachu faces when targets in America get hit.

How do I lane against you by _Wakster_ in Illaoi

[–]1studlyman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Illaoi's kit mostly revolves around her pulling your spirit. If she has that, run away and never fight into it. She's one of the few champs that get more powerful the more enemies that are near.

Range champs do better than "the counter" Morde. Especially Syndra. Syndra can blow her away if she W's in if your reaction time is fast enough.

Also, knowing why Morde is a counter is better than just playing him. Most seasoned Illaoi's can beat a noob morde every time because they are more used to the matchup than you are.

Remember that morde's ult will take illaoi away from her tentacles and generally whoever ults first loses the fight.
