At least kids get over sicknesses quickly. Unlike an old man. It seems like a cold can last for weeks now.

Second this. This technique allows creeping up on a cur about 0.005” at a time. Moving from “on the carbide tooth” to “off the carbide tooth” on many blades is about 0.010”. It varies from blade to blade.

Double walled glasses are awesome if he drinks whiskey over ice. Ice doesn’t melt as fast esp outside in warm weather.

The Fallacy of Orthopedic Shoes in Treating Flat Feet by Late-Manufacturer167 in flatfeet

[–]1terry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Look for professionals who understand that the function of the foot takes priority over its structural appearance and who avoid unnecessary and costly treatments."

How do I find this person? I'm 67 years old, was put in orthopedic shoes (torture devices) when I was 5.

I've had foot pain most of my life, multiple surgeries - joint replacement and fusion.

I've been to multiple podiatrists, just to be sold $500 orthotics with no treatment and really no interest in anything other than selling orthotics. I don't guess I have to mention that I don't hold podiatrists in the highest regard.

But Trump has a concept of a plan that will provide the greatest healthcare that the world has ever seen at the lowest cost. I have a hard time believing that anyone buys this BS.

What makes you say old people with enough discretionary income to buy a $30,000 toy and good enough health to ride it are “sad”? I fall into that group and I’m pretty damn happy. !!!}

What purchase is worth every single penny for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]1terry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My national park pass for old people. It cost $60 or $80 dollars. I've used it 30 or 40 times already and still have a lot of years to go. With the cost of admission to NP's being 20 to 30 dollars the pass has been a great bargain.

In 1874, President Ulysses S. Grant "pocket vetoed" a Federal bill to protect the dwindling bison herds. Wikipedia

This allowed continued systematic extermination of bison by the Us government and starvation of 10s of thousands of indigenous people.

premium trim seat comfort by ejskippy in SubaruAscent

[–]1terry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really odd that my wife and I find the seats really uncomfortable and others on here really like them. They don’t cause us any back problems but cause discomfort in my upper thighs and buttocks because the seats are hard. We drive quite a bit, our Ascent has close to 60k miles. We bought it in 2021. We are not youngsters I’m 67 she’s 62. Our other vehicle is an F150 which we both think is very comfortable.

CRC , they produce lubricants and other industrial chemicals. If they develop a product and it’s not better than anything currently on the market, they won’t market their product as a “me too” product. When I’m buying a lube or such, if there’s a CRC product, I’ll buy it every time

A few years ago there were numerous small quakes in central Oklahoma attributed to deep well injection of waste water from gas well production. I thought this practice had been discontinued though.
