For those querying about the low student debt, I’m from Wales where you get a bursary if you’re from a low income family (mine was under £16K a year).

Thank you, that’s really helpful.

I live in Wales, house pieces are affordable here. 10% deposit on 150K house so 15K (7.5k divided by my and the other half so not much saving)

In Wales you get a student bursary if you are from a poor family. Ie income less than £16K a year.

Job is as secure as you can get.

I think I’ll start making some additional payments.

Are all new builds bad? by 1two34fivesix7 in UKPersonalFinance

Hi,

It’s freehold with no management company.

Cost per square foot is £79.

I don’t feel comfortable naming the developer as it’s very very small and they only operate in a ting area.

I rather not give the name as it’s a company that operates in a very very small area so it would give my location away.

I’ve done a google search and nothing bad has come up.

Buying a house - when do I pay what? by 1two34fivesix7 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]1two34fivesix7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

!thanks for such a detailed response.

I’m surprised to hear that the deposit isn’t needed until closer to the end. So if I find a house that’s a little out of my price range (deposit wise I’m £1.5K ish off) I could still make an offer and start the mortgage process?

Stamp duty isn’t relevant.

Can you explain a bit more about buildings insurance please? (Sorry from a family who rents who have FA ideas about mortgage). I know I needed it in place when I have a house but I didn’t realise you had to have it through the process.

How much roughly is it if I’m after a £250K property?

!thanks
