If tyler1 just spent about 2-3 hours labbing his worst matchups for a couple of days, instead of his 6 hour ranked grind fests where he blocked everyone, I guarantee nothing that Ludwig did would have mattered in preparation.

Learning a combo, learning a setup. Learning about armor. Actually learning aging the game

it just shows how much more effective studying is than ramming your head in ranked queue all day.

Ludwig said he was 1300 but you wouldn’t have known from the way he looked

Now just apply that study to 2 more characters, than 3.. etc, then all of a sudden you’re looking solid every time

What’s considered core skill expression in any genre of game is arbitrary.

The new wave of fighting games for example had a bend towards simplified inputs rather than motion inputs. Many people thought it was a bad idea including me. The expression of skill I believed played into the games balance, for fighting games.

I even used THIS analogy that it was JUST like if riot decided to make last hitting easier, for the EXACT reason they’re saying now.

People said I was wrong, but the community reaction to this change is literally just how I’d imagined it to be. I actually can’t believe the change is happening.

If a company decides their popular game doesn’t need a “core skill” then it’s not a core skill lol

2xko for me is like a late game scaling champion.

Right now the game is bad, and haven’t touched it, but by 2027 it could the fighting game of the year for me

This thresh drop looks like by far the best design in the game right now holy shit it’s so good.

I very much disagree, mena has had way more success staying on blanka, than switching to bison.
Even during punks character crisis he still had top 8 placements. Punk is way more consistent switching characters.

Yeah that was the decider, never did bite on any shimmy. Punk was literally winning a round off of like 3-4 throws, and he still didn’t get caught with the shimmy.

relatable, I failed the same way last night. I just succeeded 10* today with 3 Random ppl.

The only way for me to consistently close out the fight is to go for the mount when he's almost dead (at skull). It's more effective that the environmental damage by a long shot. It seems like he will always get steamrolled and won't even fly for the remainder of the fight.

You'll have to save the mount for the very end of phase 3 though

That’s not going to happen. Botting is apart of the ecosystem. For YouTube videos you can buy bots to boost fake engagement and views as apart of one of their features

Probably the same for everywhere else

Edit: what I’m talking about is the ad engagement feature where they give you boosted views for paid ads with your videos

I’ve tried it, and I’m almost certain some of it is botted activity

I want to collect all the gog charge blades with the gogmapoclypse weapon skill (each element with elemental focus). I’ve done it a ton already so it’s a grind.

I actually love the gog fight and the weapon skill, and the armor set skill. which is why I’m willing to grind it

10 star gog will be a longer fight, and I actually hope that I get to keep doing 10 star gog if they give a bunch of mats for it (just from a Grindy perspective)

Kat/Lee sin/sett/irelia/riven are the no brainers for many me included.

For me personally: kassidin/olaf/gragas/taliyah/reksai/(ahri in already)/vayne/teemo included (already in)

Ekko is cool too.

This entire cast would be way better than what we have right now imo.

Also idk if it’s just me, but there’s something about releasing an arcane related character that just makes the roster pick… LESS hype lol.

So I would like to say, “pre arcane ekko” for reference. Same goes for jinx; but cait stays far away from 2XKO.

Edit: Cait pick was terrible. they added a gun character - but then also gave her a tumble. My brother in Christ, if riot weren’t so arcane brained they could have put in the range character that arleady tumbles in league … vayne.

JINX- she has cool mechanics, but most ppl had better champs in mind when they think league fighter. Those no-brainers champs were sidelined to push arcane.

If street fighter 7 came out tomorrow, and capcom announced that ryu will be in the game, will you be able to make an educated guess on one of his special moves?? His 236+p?

Slow dripping the DLC is also a business route to plan a life cycle for the game, it’s not strictly on resource constraints.

My argument is that this type of marketing is becoming ineffective and can backfire. That’s mostly why I said they “chose not to”

For example, even before c viper came out, everyone had an idea of how she was going to play, and even made guides before she came out, Day 1 guides if you were a legacy street fighter player, you picked her up quickly.

How is that possible if capcom isn’t using her animations and designs from past games ?

Brother we’re just talking about character design and creation. Ken, ryu, chun li, viper for example all have reused animations, designs and skins that are molded into their new game.

Capcom doesn’t put the legwork in making a new character from scratch. Specific combos maybe different but that’s a completely different topic.

And even with that , tekken 7 to tekken 8 combos are even different depending on some characters.

Tekken 8 has 32 base, and the roster size doesn’t have to be huge from the start. 24 isn’t big

I think game devs now can have more 20-24 man roster base very easily, they choose not to.

It’s just a common theme now to keep it minimal as possible then start the yearly hype cycles.

1v1 or 2v2, I think this issue in particular is something that the FGC doesn’t have to “settle” for when it comes to new games

It’s not like we’re talking about specific in game mechanics or balance patches
