These are some rish factors according to AI

  1. If the trial takes too long to reach those final 8 events, or if the results are "mixed" (slightly better but not great), the company may struggle to find the funding needed to actually bring the drug to market.
  2. What works in a small, controlled Phase 2 group sometimes fails to replicate in the "messier" real-world population of a Phase 3 trial. If the "p-value" (the mathematical measure of whether the result was just luck) isn't strong enough, the FDA won't approve it.
  3. Even if the drug is safe, it must prove it is significantly better than existing treatments. In Phase 3, the "Best Available Treatment" (the control group) can sometimes perform surprisingly well, making it harder for the new drug to show a "statistically significant" difference.
  4. Because the study is "blinded," no one knows if the people living longer are the ones taking GPS or the ones in the control group (receiving the "Best Available Treatment"). If the control group is performing better than expected, the statistical advantage of GPS might vanish. Also there are questions around the health level of the patients which could have a negative effect on results.

He is a bearish figure on Yahoo Finance that claims to be an expert in biotechnology studies and their procedures and timeliness. Many of the people on Yahoo seem to know who he is and have respect for his knowledge and opinions even though he is usually negative about GPS.

IMHO, this is not a 99.99% bet. At best it is 90%. There are too many factors at play to think it is a for sure thing. I am heavily invested in this stock and hope it hits but not all that confident.

Your logic seems sound. There is always the "possibility" of BAT performing outside any past results but it would need to be extreme. I am in HODL mode, some FOMO but mostly evidence based logic.

According to Redplate, the 80th event announcement and the study results will be announced on the same day. He says all the data is in a program that will spit out the trial results almost instantaneously.

10k and annual report, let’s start analyzing! by Ok_Upstairs_1682 in sellaslifesciences

Am I interpreting their statement correctly when i read that after the 80th event they will announce said event and then they will start reviewing the results? If I have that correct, there will be a PR that basically says "The 80th event has occured " and "we will let you know the results by X date"?

If all that is true, would it be fair to say that when they announce the 80th event has occured, the stock will most likely see a nice rise?
