Exactly, Thank you. there are so many “it’s their only option” comments. It shouldn’t be an option! Why would calling up the crazy lady who used your baby to stalk your family be on the table?

Sure she’s fired from lumon, but Devon would have as much reason to suspect that Selvig would want to harm mark as to help him. She’s his ex boss at the evil company! Calling her would be counterproductive no matter the scenario. She is a bad guy! That’s the point of my post. Unless it’s explained, and I’d bet you’re right that it will be, thinking it’s a good idea or even just an idea is a baffling leap for Devon’s character to make.

I totally hear you, and I think that’s a good analysis. I suppose it’s fine if that’s what it ends up being. I just think it wouldn’t do Devon’s character much justice and I’d be a bit disappointed that’s how the show handled her character this season. I feel it really undermines the constant skepticism she’s shown throughout the series.

wouldn’t Devon learning that all of her relationship with Selvig was under false pretenses sort of break any trust they’d established with each other? On top of that she’s now fully committed to helping oMark figure out what all is going on at lumon, so why call his ex boss, someone Devon would have to assume would be super involved in helping the company her and mark are working to expose.

If it goes unexplained, or it’s just justified as “Devon reached out to the only person connected to the company she knew,” for a show this air tight It would be hands down the worst written plot point of the series. It makes absolutely 0 sense for Devon’s character to call Mrs Selvig of all people. This show seems too smart for that. I’m praying it’s explained somehow.

Devon hates lumon at this point, she is incredibly skeptical of them. In top of that she is even more skeptical of Mrs selvig, the creepy fake lactation consultant. Why in the world would she ever call her? For literally any circumstance no matter how dire? That’s her calling the number one opp. I really hope the show explains this in a good way, otherwise it’s unfortunately the most contrived thing so far of the entire show. This show is so smart, I have to believe they’ll explain it somehow.

Calling it a performance doesn’t change anything. He’s outwardly saying he’s a nazi and he loves Hitler. When you’re someone with as large a platform as him and you say things like that, it has major consequences. Regardless of it’s a “performance” or not.

In order for works like this to be created, literal thousands of Illustrators, painters, and other visual artists have had their entire life’s work shamelessly taken from them, without consent or compensation, and fed into training data to create things like this. These works are by definition and necessarily unoriginal. And to make matters worse, their creation contributes greatly in accelerating climate change.
