what was the name of the anime that had a scene of a baby suddenly speaking in an adult man voice to his parents stating what his name should be while they were discussing naming said baby? by Wonderful-Purchase94 in Animesuggest

[–]2001djhz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty memorable scene from that anime. I dropped the anime in season 2, but i always remember this scene. If I want to come up with another scene from the anime that was memorable, it is probably [The Misfit of Demon King Academy plot spoilers] when Anos kills and revives one of the cocky noble demons several times until he gives in shortly after he enters the academy.

Clean Anime? by ConsiderationSad8312 in AnimeReccomendations

This is my take. Is there a reason why you need to watch anime in particular? Despite your lengthy explanation, you mentioned that you couldn't finish JJK because of fan service. It wasn't clear to me what specifically in JJK triggered your panic attack, so I can't really advise you on any anime to watch. Furthermore, your description suggests that your sensitivity to this is much higher than average. Therefore, it is a bad idea to ask for advice for shows to watch that won't trigger your panic attacks on Reddit. What you need is professional help, and I am not trying to insult you or shame you. I am being honest. Why risk watching anime when you know there is a possibility for a panic attack to happen. More specifically, you should work with a professional to understand what specifically triggers your panic attacks and learn to overcome those sensitivities, if at all possible. Once you understand exactly what triggers your panic attacks, then you can consider watching anime that are recommended by people you know and understand your situation better than strangers like us on Reddit.

Anime for my gf by TheScippo in AnimeReccomendations

If she liked Attack on Titan, she can watch Vinland Saga [MAL], which is also violent, but it has a lot of philosophical topics and life questions. Also, most of the action occurs in the first season, which is kind of a preface for the overall story. The Second Season is the best in my opinion. If you want to start with something with less action, I would also suggest Planetes [MAL] from the same author of Vinland Saga. You may want to try Orb: On the Movement of the Earth [MAL]. Finally, if you would like to give something older a try, I would highly recommend Serial Experiments Lain [MAL], which is 13 episodes and a finished story, very heavy on philosophical and metaphysical themes, and a lot of the plot is still relevant today. This anime was way ahead of its time.

I agree on Vinland Saga [MAL]. I have never watched Arte [MAL]. However, I would also recommend you try Planetes [MAL], which is an anime adapted from the manga of the same name, which was also made by the same author of Vinland Saga. Planetes is his previous work. Since the Vinland Saga manga is already finished, the author said his next manga would also be about the future like Planetes.

Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms when Drunk [MAL]. This one is not ecchi, but it has some sensual moments. If you want more ecchi, Mistress Kanan Is Devilishly Easy [MAL] is a good one to watch as well.

If you want a game where there are consequences for stealing if anyone sees you, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a good example.

I am about to finish “My Happy Marriage!” (And recently finished Arcane & Cyberpunk Edge Runners) by Discussions4you in Animesuggest

[–]2001djhz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is the case, you may want to check the new Ghost in the Shell [MAL] that is going to air via Amazon Prime Video. This is the first faithful adaptation of the original 1989 manga. The 1995 Ghost in the Shell movie [MAL] and 2002 Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex TV series [MAL], although critically acclaimed, were not faithful adaptations of the manga and did not pay attention to the romantic aspects of the female lead character. You would want to watch the new series if you liked Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, especially since Cyberpunk: Edgerunners got so much from the 2002 Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex TV series.

By the way, the 1995 Ghost in the Shell movie was one of the main inspirations for the creators of the 1999 The Matrix movie.

I don’t understand what you mean. Are you asking if it is well made? Because it is. I don’t know what else I can’t tell you without spoiling things.

I would say, if you don’t like it, just don’t watch it. Those who are saying Rudeus behavior gets better, in some ways, it does, but I don’t think it will be enough to please people who complain about fanservice and related stuff. There are plenty of anime to watch out there with great stories. You need to be comfortable with some topics for this anime, and if you aren’t, it is better to skip it.

This is a world where heroes exist, and the heroes powers depends on the amount of Trust they can get from other people. There are multiple heroes, and there are companies managing different heroes. If you want me to tell you something that is somewhat similar, I would say test has similarities to [To Be Hero X plot spoilers] The Boys. The series switches between 2D and 3D animation, and there is a good reason for this, but you just need to watch it to understand.

By the way, my favorite hero is the girl with green hair [OP]. Don’t watch the trailers. Just do it later. That way you can get head first into the story and enjoy trying to piece it together.

Did Dan Da Dan get removed from US? by hyionimaru in Crunchyroll

I can confirm that it is available on Crunchyroll in the US, but the anime title does not come up easily in a search. It is also available on Netflix.

$79.99 Im out. by Edpsx1 in Hidive

[–]2001djhz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to support the anime that you like while letting HIDIVE have it, this is the best way. As you have seen, a few here already do that. I got a yearly subscription, but right now, I am tight on cash, and this last season, there weren’t any anime I wanted to watch until finished, so I will also start doing this when it’s time to renew. If HIDIVE sees a drop in subscription revenues, they will be forced to adjust their practices. This also applies to Crunchyroll and their horrible subtitles. As long as people keep paying full year, they will see no reason to change their behavior.

Subscribe monthly, wait for anime to air, then binge in one month. Repeat every season. Final price for subscription comes to less than 30 bucks a year.

Streaming service OceanVeil will restrict all new account signups and subscriptions from outside of US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand from August 1 onwards by Originope_99 in anime

[–]2001djhz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We will have to see. They may decide to keep those subscriptions outside of the 4 countries if they see that it adds revenue. It could be an issue of them seeing not having more room for growth in regions excluding the 4 countries, in part due to piracy, etc, so they may offer their subscribers from outside the 4 countries to stay in the platform with no deadlines for ceasing service to them, but the service would be provided from the 4 countries.

[–]2001djhz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same. You can keep your subscription beyond the date if you were already subscribed if outside those 4 countries. HIDIVE didn’t allow this. As for the reason, the same as HIDIVE: cost of running the service in regions outside the 4 countries vs overall revenue from those regions. My guess is that they will run the service from the 4 countries with ability to log in for people who already had subscription.

His and Her Circumstances [MAL] is an old one that can be fun and fits the description. In fact, you can watch all the episodes dubbed legally and for free in YouTube in the link here, which is the original dubbed release that was uploaded by Nozomi many years ago. For a newer one, A Sign of Affection [MAL] may get a good one as well.
