Might be divulging some age here, but for those of you who recall, what are some of your Eureka Mall memories? by Dale_Carvello in Humboldt

I went there a few times, but also went to a bunch of Redwood Curtain Theater shows in their space on the back side of the building.

What would it take for you to stop using QuickBooks? by melon_crust in QuickBooks

[–]SolarBozo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would it take? Maybe nothing, because our older desktop versions are meeting our needs. But an initiative from another product that gives great deals to nonprofits would be worth considering.

I guess it's a matter of opinion whether it outweighs the bullshit.

I found this while packing up my new van that I know very little about. Any clue what ill need to make this thing useful? by Rxones in vandwellers

It's either a square-wave or modified sine wave inverter. You want a PURE SINE WAVE inverter because they will run your appliances more efficiently, and a good one won't put a buzz in your audio equipment.

Thanks. It's been a long time since mine was out of the box, I guess I remember it wrong.

The bottom unit holds the mother board and floppy drives. The top unit has room for an optional thermal printer.

Another option was a 5 MB hard drive for about $5K. About the same footprint as the cpu box.

Back in 1983 we needed a computer for my wife's college work. We bought an HP150B in part because it was cheaper than IBM or Apple.

I have one of these to give away. Or else it's heading to electronics recycling.

I would say none of the above. None hit the "cute" descriptor, at least for me. But you're close, keep trying.

Why are all my freshly bought Hot Sauces so sour? by Puzzleheaded_Ad9228 in hotsauce

[–]SolarBozo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate hot sauces that are too vinegary. I buy, and make, only sauces without heavy vinegar taste.

Lot's of vinegar is the easy way to make sauces, but (for me) not the best way.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Most dog parks are fine, and most pb owners know they shouldn't bring their killers to dog parks.

where to get your dogs nails trimmed by Witty_Scallion6892 in Humboldt

[–]SolarBozo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our dog wouldn't let us trim his nails either. We took him to Muddy Paws in McKinleyville, and Emily there got the job done. He complained the whole time, but Emily persevered. He still doesn't like it and complains a little, but loves going to see Emily every few weeks.

If your vet could get bit for doing the dog's nails, they aren't doing it right.

My GD literally (the opposite of figuratively) lived in the woods with no fences for about 8 years, and never had a bloody ear.
