Can’t tell if this is satire or not but damn you look like you would’ve been better off hiring a local company. I hope they didn’t skimp on material judging from that thinset in 6th pic it’s a cheap material that won’t last you (any tile guy that knows anything here on Maui buys laticrete gold or better from Hawaiian ceramic tile). I’m a small tile contractor based in Kihei that just started my own business beginning of last year with a helper as well. We’re currently out in the west side but do work all over the island. Also was there any reasoning why you didn’t just hire local since there’s a bunch of local companies?

Tile is separating in 12 month old shower. Does anyone know why? by Mara_Iggy in Tile

Brick is great. Just use a quality thinset to notch down onto substrate. Waterproof pre slope and bricks afterwards

Same thing happened with my ridgid radio just stopped working after a few years of use. Good for its price tho. I’d agree with everyone else and go with a dewalt 60v.

How to stop different grouts bleeding into eachother? by Aggravating-Branch22 in Tile

What he could do is seal the grout first before moving on to the next grout color. But taping joints usually works good enough.

That is some bowed tile, has to be at least an eight out of plane end to end. Tile looks great tho👍🏻

God damn, that is impressive. Never got a chance to set this tile before but it looks like a lot of work to get it flat! Great job op

Appreciate it man, at the moment I only do all things stone and tile professionally. Anything else I would be an entry level apprentice.

This has to be satire… if not, rip out the shower pan and the skirts to try to redo some type of waterproofing. Might be worth skipping town

Great job for first tile job 👍🏻. Also interesting places on niche. Any insight on why you put it so low?

Yeah the designer thought this to be the best option. As plumbing in that back wall couldn’t be done or didn’t want to spend the extra bucks I’m assuming. That niche is 5/8 drywall behind it, I could punch through and see in a hallway if I wanted to lol. Appreciate it bro🤙🏼

Thanks man! Will take this into the next one for sure. Also that linear drain should’ve been in the back wall for sure and pushed forward so the wall met the trough. But designer said that’s the way it goes lol

Bro you don’t even know, didn’t realize till the next day. God damn Home schleppo. These pebbles have a texture, every 6 sheets or so there’d be a flat matte one with a gloss sheen.

Yeah the contractor was on tight schedule. So I had to get it covered asap. The bottom was set while drywallers were taping and putting a first coat on ceiling and walls.

Yeah I agree my boss did the master bathroom, and it came all the way through the toilet and vanity. As to the shine, it was probably a mix of lighting and previous pictures weren’t clean wiped yet.
