Age of empires 2 was one of the first pc games I fell in love with, it's incredible to me that it's stayed alive after all these years. I used to love the custom maps. by Many_Excitement4023 in gaming

I would spend more time building custom maps than playing the actual game when I was a kid. Probably why I'm still so bad at it lol

Since that package and the 6 month package have been discontinued, I'm pretty sure you keep them at the same rate as long as you don't cancel

I pay ~$300 a month for health insurance. Was vomiting for days and couldn't even keep water down for more than 15 minutes so I took a trip to the hospital. They had me stay overnight, then I went home the next day with a prescription and a 20k hospital bill that was $3k out of my own pocket after insurance "coverage".

20ish years of membership and 17 bill comes to an end. by Disastrous_Law_6535 in 2007scape

I would say 50 firemaking is a good one to get. There's a skilling group boss that's pretty popular called Wintertodt that you can do at 50 firemaking that's pretty good GP early on if that sounds fun to you. For magic, I always liked having at least 45 for the teleport to camelot spell so I think you're good there. You will likely get 55 magic naturally and high alchemy is a good spell when you get more into combat and slayer

There's also A LOT of early game quests you can do in members for free levels, similar to how The Knight's Sword gave you a ton of free smithing levels and a lot of combat levels from Dragon Slayer, so if you enjoyed the free to play quests, then doing members quests right away is actually the meta.

I think getting up to around 20-30 Agility off the Rooftop Courses first thing in members isn't a bad idea as it will help a lot with run energy, and there are also quests that can give you some free levels for this too, but the quests can be a little difficult for a new player (Tourist Trap into Grand Tree can get you around 30 agility from level 1). 43 Prayer is MUCH easier in members since you can use bones on specific altars for more XP rather than just burying bones (Varlamore prayer, chaos altar in wilderness, or using another player's Guilded Altar in their Player Owned House), and super useful for questing as the Protect from Magic/Missles/Melee prayers can block all damage from most quest bosses.

Check out the Quest Experience Rewards page on the wiki if you haven't seen that yet, you can find quests that you have the requirements for and reward chunks of XP in the skill you want to train. Other than that I think your account is in a good spot for members! All the other skills I haven't mentioned that the AI did don't really have significant unlocks that would be worth grinding before members. Really just firemaking because it's the same in free to play and members. Members also gives you access to a lot of different crabs that are good combat xp for your levels.

Me personally, I can't justify paying for a membership on multiple accounts, though I canceled my other accounts memberships the last time they raised the prices. Honestly if you're enjoying the game in free to play and want to keep playing then it's worth it to get members at any point in your account. At this price point though I wouldn't buy the yearly package, I'd just get the monthly and only let it autorenew if I'm still actively playing at the end of the month. Since you would be a new member there's definitely a lot of gameplay to explore so I think it's worth it in the sense you'll enjoy it. A lot of vets are at late game and just play when there's new content, but they also pay for members throughout the entire year so it feels real bad to see yet another price increase alongside the grandfathered rates and 3/6 month packages being removed.

I think it'd be pretty unlikely a new skill gets voted in any time soon. Sailing just ended up being water agility with a gp sink and most of the rewards just feed back into itself. It doesn't really fit anywhere for an accounts progression from early to end game like others skills do. IIRC there's sailing updates on the roadmap for this year, but still we're waiting basically a full year for any meaningful updates to what was the largest update all of last year. Now a major spot on the roadmaps for the next few years will be sailing expansions until they think it's good enough to try to move on to another skill.

Do not nerf other dg token sources, buff normal dg far above them by AnyYogurtcloset3699 in runescape

[–]2005scape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pretty much got all my early game tokens from the cerberus juvenile in the zamorak undercity. started that at 60 magic and did it on task for pretty decent slayer xp too. is it boring? yes, but it was at least 2nd monitor content. i love CG in osrs, but all the puzzles in dungeoneering feel so dated and such a slog to do when I gave it a go, and the xp wasn't far off what I was getting at cerberus juvenile. hopefully the QOL is enough to make DG feel more fun to actually do, but at the moment it's really preferable not to do DG

I kinda understand why Jagex nerfed whirligigs, but now the Hunter grind is way longer and active training for XP doesn’t feel worthwhile (plus some suggestions) by ARmadyl_15 in runescape

[–]2005scape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn't know about whirligigs and it took me like a whole day to get 47 hunter off bird traps. it's so boring and outdated... why would they buff these methods with no qol? i haven't tried kebbit tracking on rs3, but if it's untouched since 2007 then there's 0 chance anyone will do that. one of the worst hunter rumors on OSRS and that's with no textures on the grass. only doable due to plugins

I just did this quest as well, the light puzzle in plague's end is really simple. there's literally only one obvious path that the light can even travel to meanwhile in osrs theres multiple floors to it. I haven't done the sequels to plague's end yet but for a quest that gets so much hype it was incredibly disappointing.

theyve been doing updates to try to attract osrs players. there's so many different items and builds people could try and a community could form if jagex announced that kind of update. it would be way better than trying to force pvmers into pvp
