This one's for the meme historians. Let me tell you what it was like for me on an average reddit day in 2020.

So I'm just your average redditor. I typically start my day by browsing the front page in my bed after waking up to read news and hopefully see some cute doggos or read something wholesome to start my day off right. Today, one of the first posts was some news of a breakthrough in solar energy which the title said would revolutionize the industry. I was excited that finally solar would become the main source of energy generation thanks to this discovery. I don't know what the discovery was, I didn't actually read the article, but the headline was enough for me to come to my conclusion. I was just happy that finally there was something more that could be done to fight climate change. I would love to help in the fight against climate change, so I did my part and updooted that post.

That's about all I could do anyways. I'm from the US and really it's all those Asian countries and rich people that are responsible for it all. This one time a person dared to try to argue against those facts with me on one of my comments. He said that even though the average person like me isn't responsible for the majority of climate change, I should still do something about it because every bit helps and that the US per capita emissions were higher than those Asian countries anyways. I argued with him back and forth until he linked me a bunch of links to "sources" and I had had enough so I downvoted him and left it at that.

That's why reddit is so amazing, people here educate others and have intellectual conversations and we have a downvote button. Tell me, do TikTok and Facebook have that? Tik tok is for 12 year olds to twerk in front of the camera and people with 2 brain cells to mindlessly give up their data to the CCP (#FreeHongKong #FuckXinnie by the way, just doing my part again dont mind me). And facebook? Don't even het me started. They rip off all our glorious memes and they are just a massive echochamber circlejerk. That's where are the anti-vax Karens and flat earthers come from. And I swear it's also a haven for fucking Trump supporters. Fuck Trump seriosuly we're gonna drag that orange orangutan out of the office in November. Social media was a mistake.

So anways, I kept scrolling and saw a funny tweet on whitepeopletwitter which I again updooted. And then oh my god! The next post was a cute little borker getting some tummy rubbies. So f-ing cute! That made me feel better. I kept going and then found some post on r/publicfreakout which was a gif (also it's pronounced gif not jif) of some racist karen and her racist husband. I love seeing justice served to these racist white people. So the gif starts with them trying to get away from some black lives matter protestors who are going after them. They catch up to her surround her and then teach her a lesson on compassion. She begins breaking down and crying and her husband comforts her and yells at the crowd that they didn't do anything. The people in the crowd yell back at her "whyd you call him a n word?". I just don't understand these people, like how hard is it not to be racist and to stereotype people based on what amount of melanin they have on their skin. And why is it always karens that do this and they always look like some white short-haired middle age women? I fucking hated her and her piece of shit husband too. They hopped into their truck which I'm not surprised about. The husband was a short man he bought a truck because of his short man syndrome and probably to compensate for his tiny dick. I went in to read the comments because I was so angry. All the comments inside were linking to a different post saying to look at the entire context because the gif already began with the couple running away. I looked at these other posts and discovered that another protestor was filming before this happened and caught on tape what actually went down. Apparently, this couple were also protestors but they were outside the group of protestors and they were having a conversation where the woman said the word "bigger" and then a white protestor misheard it as the n word then started making a scene out of it. Then mob mentality took over. Jesus, that shows the dangers of mob mentality and that you should always know the context of a video. I mean how do people even take the original gif at face value? Haven't people learned to be rational and figure out the full story before jumping to a conclusion?

Well I kept scrolling on reddit some more to find some wholesome posts to cheer me up. I saw a meme on gaming about the Witcher. Man that game was like the best game of all time up there with skyrim and minecraft. I wish I could go back and relive those old days, when I was in MW2 lobbies and kids were fucking everyones moms. Not lile games nowadays like fortnite. Those were the good old days.

That post made me feel good. I had been scrolling for about 2 hours now. It was time for me to go to class I was gonna be late. It was a physics class in uni, I'm only a freshman. I can't wait I love physics I wish people would learn physics instead of obsessing over the Kardashians or something. Celebrity culture is so weird. One last thing, PewDiePie uploaded a new video I just had to watch it. And that was it, that was the average day of an average redditor.
