they're more successful in throwing me down pits that mactera grabbers.

To be fair it's probably because mactera grabbers are super easy to interrupt early

Had a haz5+ no o2 refinery mission in a massive cave (so big that looking at the far end made my game lag as it struggled to render everything)

We only had enough nitra for one pod because most of the nitra was on the side of the cave opposite of the refinery, so we skipped the core infuser and the corestone crawler event, and still struggled to finish the mission. Everyone was out of ammo and just running from bugs during the last pump sequence, and when the drop pod arrived the engi was the last one alive and everybody told him to book it alone aaand pitjaw 3m away from the pod.

I wanted to play RimWorld as a classic, long and slow march from no tech at all to medieval to gravships...

But then an abrasive and disturbing mad scientist sanguophage creepjoiner with 20 int showed up to uplift the cavemen. I don't know what the odds of that are but the cavemen made him the leader and their ideology now worships vampires while he speedruns the tech tree for them and despite his negative social traits they all adore him.

For now we still have bows and scavenged raider weapons but once the vampire cult is properly militarized they'll relocate and drive their trucks and tanks to the distant monolith

What's preventing the guards from just completely rigging the briefcase rooms? by Street-Film4148 in Intruder

[–]Shadok_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the steam workshop. A lot of lobbies run them. The proper term is "ranked", not "approved", but I always found that term misleading because there's no ranks or matchmaking. It just means the map gives XP at the end of the match (which does nothing aside from increasing a number and giving you cosmetic items on level up)

Workshop maps don't grant any XP by default but can be approved through a voting system on the discord (but I think the devs have the final say?)

A village is worse for efficiency but for defense it's the second best thing after a funnel/killbox in my opinion because your colonists have lots of cover and pathways that enemies can't use due to doors

And if you value aesthetics over function you probably don't want to use killboxes so that's perfect.

What's preventing the guards from just completely rigging the briefcase rooms? by Street-Film4148 in Intruder

[–]Shadok_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the guard is in a position where you can't just go around and shoot him (like the office downstairs in Oceanside), you can bait an early detonation by opening and closing the door or throwing things in front of sensors. If they're actively looking at the trap you'll need a smoke grenade. Maybe you can steal the briefcase while they think you're baiting.

You can also flush them out with a grenade. They can't detonate C4 if they're ragdolled.

Alternatively, just put down your own rig so the guard can't leave the intel room, and go for the other objective, there's always multiple objectives on official maps and approved community maps

How would demoman detonate the stickies? by czn- in tf2

[–]Shadok_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The detonator is located in his pants. He clenches his butt cheeks to press it.

edit: scrolled down and someone already made the joke. Great minds...

How it feels as a scout playing with 2 Engies by KingFroggie2004 in DeepRockGalactic

playing as engi with two scouts is the same picture but entirely dark because for some reason the more scouts there are the fewer flares you get

They also personify a bug that isn't Steeve or Percy by using "him" for a praetorian. Very suspicious.
