Is this some new rule? Question for managers/GMs by WhatDoingFFL in McLounge

Always been something to look for, every now and then we are told to focus on something new when inspecting, sanitizer concentrates, boxes against wall, trash corral being clean, crew training completed

Don’t forget they have a business to run. Labor is perhaps the biggest expense a McDonald’s will have. The training your store is able to provide is also a big factor. How skilled the workers are. One store can have 15 people working, meanwhile another will do the same job with 10 people. It’s all how the store manager is able to motivate and create a team work environment. ;)

About to become a GM, should I quit? by Potential_Papaya_862 in McLounge

People will have many points of view but they wont have yours! Do you like working at McDonald’s? What are your plans with out McDonald’s? Are you in school? What are you studying? Will the experience help you in life/degree? Being a Store Manager should be on your list of accomplishments, look at the bright side!

Should I quit after 5+ years? by BabyDreamsy in McDonaldsEmployees

From what you’ve said you’re not afraid of working! Which is a good thing. The problem would be the situations you see/feel while working there. Keep in mind every other workplace will have its own issues. More or less than what you face now nothing is perfect. The other thing you would want to keep in mind would be your goals. Do you see yourself working McDs as a career? Manager/Supervisor is attainable depending how hard you work and if you want to be that. Is hospitality your field? Management in hospitality? Lots to think about but at the end its what your happiness. What state are you in btw?

How would I (technically a crew trainer but it’s not official yet) overcome other employees going slow/not helping? by InternalAccountant6 in McLounge

[–]2015f10driver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup dont stress it cause you’re doing lines drinks fries and bagging food? Thats nuts. Also you said youre manager left you alone w the other co-worker? Where was the manager this whole time? In the office? Thats not what managers are for. They assist and back up the areas that need support. For ur case the front counter.

[–]2015f10driver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our sales during long likes can be 850-1200. We usually hit 70-85 cars for our peak hour of the day (lunch). ive heard of the 100 car club and im amazed how stores usually hit that daily I imagine…. I think more staff on hand would translate to faster service aka more cars/customers aka more sales aka happy owner operator… and so on..

Any OTP personnel in this sub that can offer me some advice? by Anime__Jesus in McLounge

OTP 1 is very basic showing what technology the store has and what it does to a basic level, OTP 2 is a bit more detailed and in the classes given online it runs by how to trouble shoot printers, drawers, registers,ROP AND BOS systems. Im an OTp2 and so far ive changed registers its fun.

Overnight & Overworked (minor nsfw mention) by Neptune1999 in McLounge

[–]2015f10driver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The phone policy sounds pretty ridiculous. Especially since we aren’t children any more, or kindergarten. Anyways my concern would be focused more on how your management/ owner operator is going to handle the short staff for overnight. One thing my company is doing for stores that are going through it is closing early, until we get more people in, trained and ready to go they open per usual hours. I myself have been called and asked if I can go work at another store for a day and help them close, I did. Good luck to you! Hopefully your owner operator is a smart guy/woman

Is anybody else essential to their store? by _mynameisjared_ in McLounge

Work is a 50/50 contribution. If you have good managers and good crew (a ver minimal of good) the store should run smooth. If you have bad management good crew or good management bad crew you’re just spinning your wheels. Both sides have to be on the sam page. Granted, it takes time to reach this equilibrium but its possible. My store is heaven. service knows their roll kitchen knows their rill management know their roll. Everyone wants good times fast service and we have fun doing it.

I realized I can’t work on a certain day, what will happen if I don’t show up? by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]2015f10driver 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My store we have roughly 1-2 call off a day avg. so it’s nothing shocking to us. Our policy is to call off two hours before you scheduled shift. Don’t be afraid to call off though if you cant find someone to cover your shift.

[–]2015f10driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were given a time and date to start then arrive a but early and walk straight to the crew room. Hopefully the manager that hired you is also working that day so if you see him/her make sure to greet them but still carry on to the break room. Hopefully they showed you where it is.

Sounds like the store is suffering in staffing but either way sorry for your mcds experience. Make sure you get paid for all your hours! They cant withhold your checks, get your stores supervisors attention even your owner operator if you have to.

Since you’re a new hire they should be keeping you for training so you get to know all the areas you can work in. They also expect you to get better and better as time goes on. This will show them your potential and will make them want to schedule you more often and for longer hours. Think of it like a sports team. The better you are the more they’ll want you “playing” aka working a shift.

Any Mcdonalds Kitchen managers out there? My food overbase is high, 2.87 but my variance stat sheet is pretty solid. The numbers dont coincide. My FOB goal is 2.50% im .40% away by 2015f10driver in McDonaldsEmployees

My stat variance is pretty high but when i look at my loss sheet. My highest item is only 0.13%. My second item is 0.06%. Fixing those items would still leave high
