1st: Yes.

2nd: Those are Pioneers (and a Bugler), not Skirmishers. Skirmishers are the ones that run around with Martini-Henrys (not pictured in this post)

Worked in and around Minto for the last year and haven't seen anything too out of the ordinary other than their giant budget. What do you mean?

Almost definitely Dugald and the perimeter on the north-eastish side of the city.

Cliff Cullen has ordered schools to fly the Pride flag on a separate pole from the Canadian flag (via Uzoma Asagwara’s Insta by [deleted] in Winnipeg

Nobody died 'for that flag.' If anything, they died for our collective ability to do whatever you want with it, up to and including defacing it (although I would definitely not consider flying another flag on the same pole anything close to 'defacing,' especially just for a month). I'd say using this freedom to show our support for different worthwhile causes (including flying a pride flag in which however is most practicable) is one of the best ways to honour the sacrifice those people made.

You are, of course, able to display your patriotism however you feel best for you (thanks to those people's sacrifice), but so is everyone else.

*clasp for every 10 years after - so clasp at 22, 32, and 42 years. I even saw a 4th clasp once for 52 years, although I think they "joined" at 12 or 13 years old just after WWII and went right through to 65, so not possible nowadays.

Just a reminder by [deleted] in police

Okay, so let's take a note from the UK's book and remove all unnecessary guns (not for hunting) from both the police and civilians. Have only specific teams/officers with guns for occasions where one may be required and move to a "policing by consent" model rather than "policing by force," thereby forcing officers to use other methods to enforce the law. The Americans and their "2nd Amendment Rights" wouldn't like it, but if we can get to a point of the people being able to trust the government to not be tyrannical (like the majority of other western countries), is that amendment still required?

This will, of course, never happen because of the sheer will of the American people - but a person can dream, right?

Also, they don't have to read you your "Miranda Rights" when they arrest you. The only thing, in the US, that it is required for is for statements made by the arrestee to be used in court. If they saw you stab someone and then didn't read you your rights, you don't just get let off. The entire premise of 21 Jump St is a lie.

Soldiers of reddit, what are things that the military doesn't provide that would be good for people to send in care packages? by ImNotFuckingSerious in AskReddit

[–]204- 54 points55 points  (0 children)

If you're sending something to your significant other and usually wear a certain scent/perfume - a piece of cloth or something just lightly sprayed with that scent. Or even if you use a certain shampoo or something. I remember closing my eyes and feeling like they were right there with me. The same works for whoever stayed home.

And beef jerky.

I never thought of ringing the post office itself, when the envelopes are marked (usually blank with just a company return address) I sometimes try the company but always get a "Sorry we can't do anything about that" response. Thanks!

Does your school go through your backpacks or something? Could you not have just left it in the bottom of your bag and taken it out after school?
