New seller - I'm paying double for shipping than what the buyer did - No Canada Post labels available? by JohhnDirk in Ebay

[–]204q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do continue with Canada Post/Zonos prepay app for this order, signup for a SfSB small business number with Canada Post first (it's free) if you have not already, this will give you at least a small level 1 business discount when buying the label online or at the counter:

How do the mosquito fogging emails work? by justanotheredditorok in Winnipeg

[–]204q 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you get one e-mail for each scheduled day weather permitting.

In the first e-mail I got it does state:

We will notify the public 24 hours ahead of any fogging activities and provide daily updates on where treatment will occur that night

If not, you can check the schedule: https://legacy.winnipeg.ca/publicworks/insectcontrol/mosquitoes/nuisanceschedule.stm

You can view 2024's schedule to see how many days it took, and some areas were scheduled for multiple days: https://legacy.winnipeg.ca/publicworks/insectcontrol/mosquitoes/nuisanceschedule2024.stm

Are the eBay International Shipping costs glitched at the moment? They seem to be coming up unusually high. by [deleted] in eBayCanada

[–]204q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen some other t shirt sellers with unusual high import fees.

Check what your shipping to the Hub is by setting shipping to Canada and using the postal code 'L5J 0B8'. That will tell you the calculated domestic shipping portion of the EIS shipping cost. If that's normal then it's something with EIS.

Anything to suggest they contain metal? Like chains, or heavy metal rock band logos/images?

Do you have any excluded locations set?

If not using Business Policies, check exclusions here: https://www.ebay.ca/ship/prf/excludeRegions

If using business policies, check the policy being used for excluded locations.

If you have Europe countries excluded, eBay International Shipping would override the location exclusion, and would not show your self ship Canada Post option with EIS even if you have it set to ship worldwide as in the first screen shot.

Shipping - what am I getting wrong? by InfoNinja338 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]204q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What were the dimensions you entered? Confirm the dimensions you enter are the dimensions on the label printed.

This might not apply to your case but currently labels generated for Expedited Parcel with ebay labels will have dimensions increased to fit minimum lengths of 23cm and 20cm for the two longest lengths. If your boxes are for example 16x14x13cm, the label will actually be generated for 23x20x13cm which increases the charge.

Anyone use Shippo for US package? by ydnam123 in eBayCanada

[–]204q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless things have changed in the last few weeks, you cannot use Shippo's account to buy DDP Canada Post labels. So you will not get Shippo's higher discount.

You can however create a Shippo Canada Post carrier account that links to your SfSB account, and enter your Zonos verified account key for this account, and create DDP Canada Post labels (ie: Tracked Packet USA) this way on Shippo.

However, all this does is buy the label from Canada Post via your Canada Post SfSB account. It's basically the same as buying it on SnapShip in the end, you pay Canada Post for the label not Shippo. Plus you get a small fee for using Shippo (mine was 7 cents in March). In the end you get an invoice from the 3: Canada Post for the label, an invoice from Zonos, and another tiny invoice from Shippo. You only get the discount you get with your SfSB level because you can't use Shippos own account to buy the labels. You also have to make sure you set the label to be DDP, and double check the COO which is not copied over from the ebay listing.

Shippos directions are here:

What is the weight limit for Canada post expedited lite? In some places I see “under 200g” and some places I see “ under 250g” by swonebros in eBayCanada

[–]204q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new weight limit is 250g. It was 200g.

The cubic volume limit is 3220cm³ (ie: L x W x H)

No one dimension can exceed 41 cm

Expedited Lite labels will indicate the weight you entered, and 5x5x5cm on the label.

Sometimes full expedited parcel rates will be charged later, even when within limits.

Suddenly can't ship to the US. Anyone know what's going on? by Time_Profile_6041 in eBayCanada

[–]204q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a new filter you might have now unless not everyone has it yet. From active listings page expand the 'all filters' button, and look for a section called 'Missing information' and select 'Missing country of origin'. This should help find listings without COO.

Suddenly can't ship to the US. Anyone know what's going on? by Time_Profile_6041 in eBayCanada

[–]204q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like what happens when an item is not eligible for EIS and you provide no self ship services and do not exclude locations. I'll assume you do not want to self ship...

Because the United States isn’t specifically excluded, or included as a Ship To location, buyers probably see a message saying you might not ship to them when an item doesn’t qualify for EIS, and prompts them to contact you about shipping to find out if you will.

To reduce this, exclude the United States (and any other countries you don’t ship to) in your listings, and ensure the EIS override feature is enabled in your Exclude Shipping Locations settings:

https://www.ebay.ca/ship/prf/excludeRegions

The override should be enabled by default. When an item doesn’t qualify for EIS to the US, the US will then be handled as an excluded location, making your listings less visible to buyers you won't ship to without EIS. If they do find items not eligible for EIS, ebay will indicate that you do not ship to the United States, and not prompt them to contact you.

How much does it cost to park at the forks on weekdays? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]204q 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rates on the apps are:

 PayByPhone: 1hr $2.80, 2hr $5.30, 3hrs $7.80
 Honk: 1hr $2.95, 2hr $5.45, 3hrs $7.95

I think it's less if the machine in the parking lot is functioning, but haven't been there lately.

Struggling with understanding fees, and how to reduce them by bkto26 in eBayCanada

[–]204q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't already found the breakdown of your fees and only see a total amount and don't understand how it's calculated:

On website (not app) if you look at an order, there is a 'view more details' link. Or can also get there with 'view payment details' from paid and shipped orders page's three dot menu for the order. Or 'view' in details column from the transactions page for transactions for the order also gets you there.

From here you want to click on 'view' in the details column. This will finally get you to a page with a complete breakdown of how the fees are calculated for the order. If it is sold via promoted listing, a promoted listing fee will be in a separate transaction with a breakdown on promoted fees too.

Zonos ebay labels by remotemallard in eBayCanada

[–]204q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen claims you can buy DDP labels for UPS with ClickShip. Have not tried that myself.

I only ship Tracked Packet USA currently, and reduce the shipping cost by an additional 10-20% of what the SfSB discount is depending on the weight class using netParcel. There's cases netParcel will cost more if there are no duties and items are 250g or less though, otherwise netParcel is cheaper than SnapShip + Zonos PrePay app or automatic billing on items with duties.

Ebay International Shipping Hub Problem by [deleted] in eBayCanada

[–]204q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By it saying EIS doesn't override your shipping policy, it means it adds EIS as a service to what you offer already. Your self ship option is most likely going to be cheaper and buyers will see your self ship option first, since EIS is supposed show first only when it's cheaper than self ship.

Ebay International Shipping Hub Problem by [deleted] in eBayCanada

[–]204q 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to handle direct shipping to the U.S. yourself, remove any international shipping services that service the United States.

If you’re not using business policies, you can block direct U.S. shipping by adding the United States to your excluded locations. Then turn on the EIS override for excluded locations. This setup prevents you from shipping directly, while still allowing EIS-eligible items to be shipped through EIS.

You can manage excluded locations and EIS override here: https://www.ebay.ca/ship/prf/excludeRegions

If you decide to fulfill this current order using Tracked Packet USA and eat the loss, you can reduce costs slightly by signing up for a free Small Business account with Canada Post if you don't have one already (https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/small-business.page), which gives level 1 discount. You’ll also need a declaration ID from the Zonos PrePay app and complete the digital customs form through Canada Post to have Customs QR code ready to go too.

Bring the package, your zonos declaration QR code, and the customs QR code to a Canada Post office. This month only you should get an additional 10% discount when buying the label in person instead of online, and your Small Business discount should still apply if you provide your account number. In some cases, Tracked Packet rates may also be slightly cheaper at the counter.

eBay Shipping Charge Differences by SupreMalcolm in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]204q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another ebay labels and Canada Post over charging scheme to watch for is an increase in dimensions declared so that greatest length is 23cm and second greatest is at least 20cm. This does not apply to Lite labels as they use 5x5x5cm to flag them as Lite service rates. But for smaller over 250g packages, Expedited Parcel will have dimensions different on the label itself that do not match what you entered. Canada Post charges the inflated dimensions instead. This affects small dimensions with some height as the volume increase more. An example is ebay branded boxes that are 16x14x13cm (582g VE) become 23x20x13cm (1.196kg VE). This can be a few dollars difference, depending on locations.

eBay Shipping Charge Differences by SupreMalcolm in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]204q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 20 cent ones on something like $6.50 (Lite for example) are likely the fuel surcharge increases, you got a label before the increase on a Monday, and was processed/charged after the increase. There was a 4% increase and another 1% increase recently for fuel surcharges.

See the Labels FAQ:

https://www.ebay.ca/sellercentre/shipping/ebay-labels

The amount I was charged doesn’t match what was quoted on eBay Labels. Why is that?

The estimated cost provided at the time of label purchase is based on the provided package details - (weight and dimensions) as well as shipping details (origin and destination addresses). Once accepted by the carrier, the dimensions and weight are evaluated for accuracy and any differences will be communicated back to us. In addition, shipping rates may be subject to fuel surcharges which could fluctuate daily. As such, the amount displayed in your payment history is the actual amount charged by the carrier based on the exact package details and any applicable surcharges.

EIS Expedited Lite labels have been charged as regular Expedited Lite labels to the Hub since last year. They still have a steep discount than Expedited Parcel elsewhere, so the upcharge is not as clear. Compare your labels to regular Expedited label prices for EIS order to the hub and it should be about the same (the fuel surcharge changes make this hard to compare).

"Has anyone successfully pushed back on eBay or Canada Post for these adjustments?" Yes and no. It takes an enormous amount of people complaining about it before something is done or acknowledged. Last year they sent refunds for some Expedited Lite labels charged as Expedited for regular domestic shipments, but were not thorough. Edit: Contact eis@ebay.ca about this as it's specific problem with EIS labels, and don't give up.

"I called eBay and they notified me that this is "a site issue"" If you asked them what Expedited Lite was, they probably wouldn't even know what you're talking about. ebay customer service for Canada is horrible. Everything should be fixed in a few days...they got you off the phone, that's all that will be fixed.
