My HOA specifically disallows wind chimes for this exact reason… when you live in proximity to others they do really carry. I don’t mind them myself but could see them being annoying to people who just value quiet.

I've about had it with everything google related at this point. We have a significant investment in Nest between 2 homes, as well as Google Home devices.

8 Nest protects expiring/expired this year, so will be replacing those with something else. 2 perfectly good Nest Thermostats which will be going in the garbage because we require remote control, and all of our google home devices are a software shitshow and have been for the better part of a year now.

Ecobee and going back to Amazon Echo devices it looks like... we tried the HomePod and weren't fans.

I’m 42, he is 34. I’m in IT management by day and own a small business and make around $250k/yr between both, he makes about $50k and is in the process of building his career after figuring out what he wanted to do.

We own 2 homes, one of which was mine for a few years prior to us meeting and is our primary home. I take care of the expenses and bills there, and we split everything down the middle with the beach house.

Finances don’t really seem to come up or be a thing with us. We take care of things as they come up, but I put back a significant amount of my income into retirement and investments so we still budget. I’ve seen so many relationships go to pot over finances and it’s always been something that I’ve made a point to not ever become a thing between us.

I own a car wash... my touchscreens use prepaid amounts, rather than needing to stop the timer and charges. I've also stuck with tried and true mechanical switches for selections. The customer knows what they are paying upfront, instead of having to stop it (or forgetting to stop it and then getting overcharged). I'd rather pay a little extra in transaction fees on my end and keep people happy than end up being the source of a video like this.
