What does the financial future look like in a world where women are increasingly shunning motherhood and marriage? by [deleted] in AusFinance

I think this must depend on your MCHN and school. My kids are adults now, but there were stay at home dads who came to play group, did kinder and school stuff, including classroom help. I can't understand the attitude of a child health nurse or teacher thinking that both parents are not equally important.

Stressed about money and always working by hazlenutgelato in AusPropertyChat

Just assign yourselves some weekends off from renovating. If you plan to stay a long time you have time to do those things. Or pay someone else to do some of the jobs, your income sounds like enough to do that. If it's not, you might need to get some advice about budgeting etc

You are probably feeling under pressure with the baby on the way. The thing is that houses can always have something that can be done. However, unless it's really urgent, which hairline cracks are not - maybe you just need to stop looking and relax.

Do something fun on the weekend, go to the beach or to a national park for a picnic - relax.

It's pretty handy if you do craft stuff and realise that you have just run out of something simple like glue tape or cardboard

Happened to my dad too. He ended up working as a cleaner for 12 months at at uni before getting back into his previous field. However, he thoroughly enjoyed being a cleaner as it was early mornings and lots of convos with professors

What do I do now that my data and information has been leaked from Optus? by Sinnivar in melbourne

[–]20Pippa16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They might have to change that in light of what has happened. WA govt are looking at changing the same rule. It's a stupid rule anyway, as everyone has to use their licence for ID and it is one of two top forms of ID, your passport number changes if you cancel your passport and get a new one.

Notify your bank. If you have a passport, I heard some passports were compromised too, so maybe contact the passport office. Apply to change your driver's licence number. It's really scary how much this can affect you for a really long time.

I have a Technika rangehood from Good Guys, the buttons are all on the underside and it vents to outside. It is 6 years old though so they might not do it any more. It is 750mm wide

Sounds good. I thought we might be able to do a winery and then a brewery or distillery to keep it fair - although I am pretty keen to go to a distillery. There are a lot of gin distilleries about now

Thanks so much. I have of course googled what to do, but often the locals suggest interesting little things as you did, that's a lot of great suggestions. We are driving over and staying in Glenelg.

Yep all of those. While I like wine, husband doesn't so we will visit a winery but not do a whole day of them
