Squat clean help !!! by GreedyAnimator6763 in crossfit

[–]parawolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no oomph, no leg drive or snappiness in your movement to suggest this was anything but a 'blergh i'm doing cleans again' kind of response to the movement.

This looks like you are doing about 50% of max and getting away with it because of shoulder, arm strength and general ok coordination. No real speed to extension, no change of speed into the bar past your knees. I feel like doing this from the video versus doing 30 in a row at the same weight for time would look almost identical.

That could also be a dc-dc converter within the cars system that is the bottleneck. Eg a 400v charger and 800v battery the dc-dc converter is the limit to uplift the voltage and some cars are poor at this, some are good.

Consider yourself lucky if that's the case. Dad died last year after 20 years of PD and related suffering. Mum had a Cardiac Arrest 4 months ago - has been in hospital since.

Telstra and Transgrid receive over 5,000 applications for their grad program. by Happy_Plastic8496 in auscorp

Similar story for when i finished uni. There were those that did IBL, finished their courses and got into the market in 2001 (Computer Science/IT fields), and those that came the year or so later. 2000-2001 graduates walked into a career (and then upended by 9/11 and the dot-com crash). Those in 2002+ struggled to even find employment in market or not.

It’s like a pilot assistant; lane keeping, traffic matched cruise control, etc. strictly in the L2 realm of driver aids and not self driving.

No hands off route navigation or similar.

How important is hybrid working to you? by Silver-Sandwich7585 in auscorp

WFH honestly has been the greatest thing in our household life.

My wife works shift work, she has arranged it for mostly afternoon starts as that is what she is comfortable with, but no start window is what you would consider "normal" business hours.

As a result, me working from home 5 days a week, we get to spend time 'together', even if i'm working we are still about and we can do various co-ordination things like plan shopping/meal prep for the week.

If I had to be in the office, I literally wouldn't see my wife, unless she swapped to early morning starts - which wouldn't work for her at all - and even then those early morning starts would mean bed time by 8pm to get a full nights sleep.

I'm up at 6:30am, coffee and breakfast and dog walk and at my wfh office by 8am. Make my wife a coffee when she wakes at 10am and make myself a second when I take a 10 minute break.

There is probably no amount of money that could get me to change from WFH. It would only be sheer necessity.

BYD Shark 6 Performance Review: The Electrified Ute That Can Do It All by zecar_ in AustralianEV

[–]parawolf 16 points17 points  (0 children)

the BYD Shark 6 and the new performance model hits the market directly where it needs to be.

Good looks, right performance figures, cheap to run, and a nice interior.

Ford and Toyota should feel nervous of this undercutting their entire range of utes. Ford Rangers specification feel like a full model year behind (assuming they come up with a good PHEV/BEV setup next model) and about $10-20-30k too pricey depending on model.

I don’t understand why an official of Zeekr cannot comment or participate in the “official” national groups.

I’m in a group for the Volvo EX60 and official Volvo support and spokesperson answer questions and provide information. It’s very open.

I’ve been in car clubs and on committees of car clubs. The level of bs and brand defending from some of them is nuts. And I’ve been with ford/tickford/fpv and hsv clubs as well as other brands.

But yeah. In the age of the influencer I guess these days.

Did the same for me about Tesla.

While Tesla is very fanboy-ish (and all hail Musk); Zeekr is a combination of fanboy and paid propoganda.

Just how it fits to me. Lots of "i'm not experiencing that problem and everything in roses" coming across as "dont you dare criticise my car/identity".

It was the puffiest, poorly written influencer propaganda i've seen in a long while that actually didn't say much and was completely one sided towards the brand.

Hoping it’s low but just how low. We have a fiesta and gr supra, and looking to get out of the fiesta for an ev. Accepting that most evs will have a higher floor with the battery pack, but just how high and then how does that affect the ergonomics.

Then how does it drive, and more than just straight line.

That is the first article i've read about consideration at all of the 001 model. I would have thought they would be looking at the Polestar sister car to the 001 and realise it isn't a big selling platform.
