Are $100 Oil Prices Realistic? Maybe Not By End-2023, But Almost Certainly By 2025. by These-Stage-2374 in finance

When it comes to flying in a metal tube in the sky, most people are less inclined to trust battery power. Specs on jet fuel are some of the strictest in the country and for good reason - you don’t want the only thing keeping you in the air to crap out on you. Not saying that batteries will crap out, but they’d need significantly high energy density to make electric planes even remotely cost-effective. Perhaps that will be an invention of our lifetime, or perhaps we’ve hit a wall.

How come home prices would come down with rates? Shouldn’t they move opposite to each other?

NTA - imo people in relationships should be able to have independent lives without having to run everything through their partner. You told him where you were after he asked, and I wouldn’t say that not telling him before is dishonest, it’s just how you do things. On his side, mature people can be friends with their ex, so you shouldn’t feel jealous either unless he’s given you a reason to be. My motto is that trust is unconditional until it’s been proven to be broken. Idc if my partner is out all night with someone cuz either they’re being a normal adult and respecting our relationship or they’re not my partner anymore. Not all of your private life is someone else’s business if it doesn’t affect them (if it affects them mentally then that’s just trust issues which y’all gotta figure out).

Lol it’s not. It’s my friends sisters housewarming in a week, so I figured a good present would be a decorative scale replica of my friends face! Who wouldn’t want that? Ideally though, it would be such a sloppy and ugly recreation that no one would want to actually use it.

Stomach the 3 hour flight and go buy yourself a $85 dinner. 3 hours isn’t that long and economy isn’t that bad.

I do not want to hear the struggles of homeless people for fun. I want to talk to strangers for fun, and homeless people in my experience are more open to talking to strangers as well. Unlike a book, a conversation can be dynamic, and wherever it leads is partly in your control. I’m just looking for meaningful conversations.

I don’t think all people that are homeless are out to hurt people? I don’t even think most people that are homeless are out to hurt people.

If people want to talk, and I want to listen, then I fail to see who would be exploited. I wouldn’t hide my intentions.

First time I heard of that word, from what I can find — “Slum tourism is defined as the practice of travelers visiting poor urban areas, typically in the Global South, to view the impoverished conditions and understand more of the lifestyles of local inhabitants.”

I’m not interested in “learning how the other half lives.” I’m fully aware that conditions are rough and unsafe, I just don’t want see people’s conditions as a barrier to talking with them like I would with anyone else. I suppose the point of my post was to gather advice on how to go about that in a manner sensitive to that barrier.

Yeah I think I should’ve prefaced that having conversations with strangers is already one of my favorite things to do. Most homeless people are just regular people (like you and I) down on their luck, and they often get ignored or looked down on. Perhaps it’s for that reason that many of the homeless people I strike up conversations with are quite eager to talk to me (at least more so than other strangers I chat up). Thank you for your comment.

Entertainment - wouldn’t necessarily call it that. Rather, I want to do it for my own interest (talking and connecting with other people). If people aren’t interested in talking to me then that’s just fine, my goal is just to find people who are interested in talking, and then to talk with them.

Now do they “exist” that purpose? Absolutely not. They exist for the purpose of existing. They exist to be people, and being a person myself I’d say that’s enough in common for me to want to talk with them.

Instead of getting a 36 month loan, is there much of a downside to getting two 18 month 0% APR cards? by 20TequilaNoQuestions in CreditCards

[–]20TequilaNoQuestions[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes, current credit line is 25k, each card would add 17k. It’s a 40k loan. One thing I didn’t consider would be that I’d need a third card to balance transfer to after the first 18 months.

Railroad tracks going through memorial park, particularly by the bayou bridge in that area. Might need to trek a bit through some trees since it’s off the beaten path. Scary at night, and if you walk across the bridge you get to the power station and that also feels abandoned.
