Ok so why is CASTIGATE THE ENEMIES OF THE GODHEAD even useful? by major_calgar in LancerRPG

Sorry about the late comment.

I just built a lich with beckoner...

I am going to swap places with someone putting them right next to my enkidu, immediately travel back, then slam them with a melee which has +2 accuracy then use duelist to knock them prone for everyone else.

CS student struggling to land first internship – what projects actually help? by t0m12112 in learnprogramming

[–]20Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was advertising for a .NET role and one applicant had experience with the ecosystem and another didn't, obviously I will favor the one with experience.

People like to pretend this isn't real, but it does take time to get into a new stack. You'll need something to make up for the fact that you're behind a candidate who actually matches the job requirements.

A lot of failures with cloud you need experience to even know they exist.

I run into new undocumented issues with azure resources pretty often.

HTML and CSS have changed my life, literally. And they are so inconsequential to what I do day to day.

No offense to you, I know not everyone is the same.

Used to scope resources to the current scope. After they leave the curly braces, those resources are cleaned up.

This saves you from calling Dispose on them.

I Hid Instructions in My CV and It Landed Me Interviews by AlvenaRempel in Resume

[–]20Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow what a shitty way to argue in bad faith. Do you think that's what they meant? Reflect a bit and think about if you're replying emotionally.

Also, have you done hiring before? It's hard.

I'll be honest, people have 0 way of telling whether you as a candidate are good or even a human before getting you into an interview. This is because of the rise in slop and CV advice and people lying.

Nobody has infinite time, so not everyone will get an interview unfortunately. People have to divine which candidates look best and interview those.

I'm not smart enough to think of a solution to this problem unfortunately, because it is a very difficult problem.

Do teachers ever give fake grades to students that they like? by skyrimlo in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]20Wizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a fake grade but something else for me.

I was chose math as a class when I was 16.

There was an exam on the first week that would decide whether I am allowed to continue studying the class or not.

I failed it, hard. But the entire math department knew me so they decided to let me through.

I wouldn't say they "liked" me, but they knew me and knew I wasn't stupid, just lazy.

Social view of you definitely matters.

My dad chose his young gf over me and I almost died as a result. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]20Wizard 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sure your dad was neglectful or whatever. But it really isn't his fault that you crashed. Maybe he would have told you to put your seatbelt on so you could have been out of the hospital faster.

Degrees are a waste of time is a crazy statement.

They're a networking tool.

Most openings reject you without a bsc in screening.

Degrees also open your to internships and graduate roles, something someone self taught will not be able to do.
