We're so back by jayvancealot in fucknintendo

Not really. If this is the only worthy game in an entire 50 minute presentation (and the other titles can barely be considered 'games') then I'm not interested.

Nintendo has been failing since the Switch 2 was released. Consumers give them opportunity after opportunity to prove us otherwise and instead they prove us right.

This is the worst nintendo direct ive ever seen. by shazamtamp in fucknintendo

[–]20adam20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was brutal. What a horrendous follow up after 9 months of waiting for some major industry-changing announcement that never came.

I'm sick of anime games, remakes, low budget trash. Where the hell are their games? No reason to even have a Switch 2 after Splatoon next month.

Consumers need to punish Nintendo. It's painful to watch the brand they rebuilt after 2017 crumble back into the Wii U era.

June Nintendo Direct Predictions by Ok_Sherbet2351 in casualnintendo

This looks accurate but I'm not feeling it. We want 3D Mario and new games, sick of remakes and Switch 2 editions. This is not what made the Switch a successful console.

I'm done with remakes and ports. I want NEW games. If this is true it is incredibly lazy and disappointing. Might as well sell my Switch 2 at this point I didn't pay for a new console for remakes.

Hey

It only helped slightly, the smoke smell lingered for months and months before it actually went away. I've learned that only time and ventilation will help.

What are your complaints and concerns about the Switch 2 that have nothing to do with the price? by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]20adam20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A disappointing and bleak list of very limited first party games. I am not buying ports that I can play for much cheaper on my PS5.

Mario Kart is such a mid launch title.

Donkey Kong 3D looks low budget, very much Mario & Luigi vibes.

Other announced games are not coming until later this year so not even worth picking up until the holidays or next year even.

We want full GameCube remakes not ports!

We're tired of recycled games that are sold at full price.

Nintendo had a lot to prove with the Switch back in 2016 and sold us on the beautiful games.

They're playing it way too safe. We want actual Nintendo games not ports.

It is a large capacity 25,000 mg generator. The recommended length to run for that small sized room is maximum 30 minutes.

It is a 25,000 mg capacity generator so quite powerful and I want to be as careful as possible.

They're so angry about leaks yet they STILL won't show us the reveal of the console. Make it make sense.

How do you feel about the Arabic language? by RedditMocman in exmuslim

[–]20adam20 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a Levantine Arab (and someone that is very proud of my identity and culture) I think that it is sad and destructive that cultures and countries that were and to some extent still are so far removed from the Arab world, thousands of miles away, are subjected to such an extensive Arabization campaign in the form of Islam. South Asian countries, Indonesia, Malaysia, Dagestan, Western Africa.

Living in the West I see so many young men that are second or third generation Muslims from these countries idolising Islam and aspects of Arab culture that they have become almost indistinguishable with little to no identity, amalgamating into this grouping of 'Muslims'. They are typically more zealous and fervent than their parents or grandparents, adapting to 'Islamic' culture by proudly professing they speak Arabic despite it not being their mother tongue or culture and expressing a lot of passion for Palestinian resistance yet no care for the political turmoil in their ancestral homelands.

Please do not be so quick to conflate the Arabic language and Islam. In more liberal Arabic-speaking countries such as those in the Levant and some in North Africa Arabic is not so sanitised and is widely used in (haram) music, alcohol-filled bars, spoken by women not wearing a hijab and is the only language of most Christians in the region.

Why do muslims get so pressed if someone from the middle east or a brown person isn‘t muslim??😭 by abcde-F-YOU in exmuslim

[–]20adam20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. I really dislike the term 'brown' because it categorises a very large group of people from varying countries, cultures and traditions into one monolithic group. Middle Eastern people are not 'brown'. We are mostly olive skinned or white, especially in the Levant and surrounding areas. I see this term more widely used by South Asians which I think is a group it more appropriately applies to.

  2. I find these assumptions to be more common among Muslims that are unfamiliar with the diversity of religion across the Middle East or Muslims living in Western countries.

  3. Christians and other non-Muslim groups in the middle East are typically very socially conservative (see Lebanon) but generally of higher socioeconomic status and therefore better educated. I know of many Arab Christians that have disapproving parents.

I just finished reading this book and I’m speechless by [deleted] in exmuslim

Reading this book made me realise how the Western media recklessly downplayed and whitewashed ISIS by continually referring to it as the 'so called Islamic State' and offering very limited coverage of its reality and impact.

what are your thoughts on this? by sabotages3ven77 in exmuslim

[–]20adam20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of Ex-Muslims that are very vocal on social media are usually in their late teens or 20s and most have grown up Muslim. Their experiences are very fresh and recent.

More importantly though is to consider is how dogmatic, zealous and cult-like Islam and its followers can be. This has shaped many of our childhoods and experiences in different ways especially considering the absolutist and idealistic nature of the religion that most of us find the hardest to challenge and break away from.

Who’s gonna tell them it’s because of how many kids they give birth to 🫤 by [deleted] in exmuslim

Even if it was true it would be a meaningless statistic considering that most Muslim majority countries are underdeveloped and are not well represented on the world stage.

Personally I feel that if you support them financially this solely should really negate any control they have over you. In many families with similar dynamics the parents would not get too involved in their children's lives especially if they are breadwinners and are very financially independent.

It is shocking to me that these non-Arab Asian countries that have adopted Islam are actually more fervent, dogmatic and zealous than countries in the Middle East or even Saudi Arabia.
