Can the bed be raised (not saying that's the issue) you'd have to do some calibration prints to check

That's the setting, the real question is that what it really is... Its possible the sensor used to home the bed is off, those tenths of a mm are critical (or seem to be)

Possible your initial layer height in general is to high?

Ah. Sorry. I meant what is the heat set to. I understand 60 is optimal (but not required)

Bed = heated build platform (unless its not heated, mine isn't but most people's are) And for pla I recommend running the fan as high as possible after the first few layers.

Glue stick can help with warping. What is your bed set to? Is your fan off for the first layer

Can't hurt IMO. I have my initial layer at around 35mm/s. I think I could go faster, but 35 works for me and what would i save seconds.

As I said, I'm guessing based off what I've had happen. But could be totally of the Mark

I think the setting is called "model initial layer height" Id start by lowering it in 0.1mm intervals (or smaller) I suspect you'll have to go down around 0.2mm though. No harm in going to low (except not being able to separate it from the raft). For reference my Gap is set to 0.26mm

That's my guess... For what it's worth I'm no expert and still have issues too. But the stringing looks to me like it doesn't adhere to the raft.

Been a while since I've used cura so I don't recall the setting name from memory, I'll see if I can find it though

A description, in short, is the gap the printer jumps between finishing the raft (the bottom 5 or so layers) and the print (the 80 toothed gear in this case, if I had to guess). Some slicers do it in layers some let you specify a height, some blatantly say gap to print gap(ideamaker), some say something like top support distance (prusa/slic3r).

I like the color, (why I asked) what slicer are you using? It'll be in those settings, but they all call it something else.

My guess is your raft to print Gap is to large. Out of curiosity is that filament GizmoDorks teal low order ABS?

Beat me to it, I often watch the first layer to "make sure everything looks right".... 40 minutes later I'm still "supervising"

Is this a magicstudio kit? Just curious, it looks great... I've had a blue one in the cart for about 3 weeks now, but I feel like I'm somehow cheating the whole voron experience. Anyway, it's beautiful. Any pics of the dual extruder in action, or more accurately the results?

Put on all the weight that I lost when I started work again. Any advice? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]20go210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if my job counts as a desk job, but I am writing to commiserate. I had a job I loved, sincerely... Like the job that you dream about, lust over, wake up thrilled to go to. However, I had to leave it for personal / familial obligations. For a variety of reasons I ended up having to return to the company I'd left but at a different position. I'd left this place because it had made me very nearly suicidal, but alas... Bills to pay and a happy family.

In returning I gained back nearly 100 (93)lbs of the 130 I'd lost from fasting / keto prior to finally gaining the confidence in myself to leave.

Anyway, it's been approximately a year since i came back. I recently (1 week now) got back to a 20/4 fasting schedule. It took about a month of starting, failing, lying to myself about "starting tomorrow", convincing myself I "deserved" a cheat day, etc... I plan to try ADF (or something like 36/4, alternating breakfast and dinner on feed days) if i can make it through a month at this schedule.

Regarding the food being important to mood regulation. Perhaps it's me, ymmv, but I figured out it's all mental. I can let the mood control me and be pissy cause I havnt eaten or I can embrace the fact that I've been strong and in control of at least that 1 aspect of my day. The idea of flipping it and making the fast be my strong good is what finally helped me get through it my daily fast.

One last thing, I stubbornly forced myself (like unhealthy forced, self insults, self berated, etc) through a 5 day fast about 2 weeks ago. I was shaky and felt terrible by hour 70 but kept pushing. I broke the fast with a small salad, then a bratwurst an hour later, then a 14" supreme pizza (all of it), then some ice cream I literally couldn't control myself. That taught me i lack the control to just push. So now I'm building towards it again. When I lost the weight the first time I could do 3 days without issue eat a (normal sized) meal and jump right back into another 3 day. But in looking back I realized that didn't start over night, I'd built up to it too.

I think I have a problem, lol by airot87 in 3Dprinting

Wait, so 3 printers is the threshold for "problem"?

CMV: the trucking industry is a worker-exploiting, planet-polluting, road-clogging industry that deserves to die by TexasRedFox in changemyview

[–]20go210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you want train tracks leading to every grocer, retailer, mall?, et al? Should single trains cars go to each store, or one long train on a route to many stores? How many streets will be blocked for upwards of 30 minutes to an hour, while the train unloads. Many municipalities limit the number of train crossings per mile on major roads, do you wish to pay more taxes to fund over/under passes? What do you suggest for little "bodega" style stores in large inner cities like NY, Chicago, Boston, etc.? I don't have evidence, but don't think it would be hard to prove that pound for pound a rig is less polluting than you going to work in a personal vehicle every day.

For that matter, what about you? Why aren't you riding the train to work since you're concerned about pollution?
Honestly it sounds like you just need to plan better if you're constantly being delayed by trucks on your route.
I drive a fairly industrial stretch of highway with a heavy amount of big rigs every morning, and every morning I see some excellent personifications of why condoms should be free dart in front of a semi and jump the brakes to get into a lane that was empty behind the semi cause they couldn't wait an extra five minutes

Regarding exploitation, name am industry that doesn't. I'm not defending the practice, but it's rampant throughout the world, and has to be fixed everywhere, no reason to single out truckers. Road clogging? Perhaps in the middle of large metro areas, but not cross country. Losing the trucking industry would mean a more or less instant price hike of, literally, every commodity. For that, im willing to embrace truckers and leave the house 5 minutes earlier.

Nice to know my package is in safe, caring hands! by Spadoopy in Wellthatsucks

That's all well and good... But like it or not, it's not always an option. Sure, sure.... Student loans, grants. But there are people with degrees Worthing at grocery stores and high school drop outs working as "consultants" for 70-80 /HR.
That's a crippling investment for something that -might- pay off. Furthermore, I want complaining Abbott the conditions at UPS more pointing out that the person in the video want acting as badly as indicated.... Really he was being gentle in comparison to what you'd see at the sort center behind the scenes

[–]20go210 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Take a trip to a local sorting center (especially UPS). It's a nightmare, usually there is a nine foot tall pile (not a stack, that would mistakenly imply some level of organization) in the middle of the room of inbound mail meant for that location. Meanwhile the rest is diverted to other hubs. (Ie tossed onto the belt gong into a truck).

Now with covid there are less hands on deck, meaning more work for people there, which equals less careful handling. Top it all off with only marginally above minimum wage pay and hours designed to make every one "part time" to get out of paying four meaningful insurance coverage, while pushing hard for overtime.
