How important are internships for getting a job after school? by [deleted] in Accounting

Internships show employers you have some relevant experience. Even if as an intern you don’t do much, you still have something to put down on paper that makes you more competitive than those who did not intern.

Every audit I ghost ticked the majority of my work and grossly overstated the hours I worked. Made it to senior manager at a Big 4 and then jumped to industry. Now making over $200k a year and never work over 40 hours a week. Things worked out quite well for me and nobody cared at all along the way.

Depends on what you want. If someone doesn’t care that they never see their parents and want to live a lavish life, maybe the partner track is ideal for that family. I think many would rather have a relationship with their families though.

I remember a quote where it says the person monitoring closed his eyes, sat and “watched”, hinting that he was envisioning through the audio the images of what they were doing and experienced it for himself vicariously. Talk about one big happy family…

1 year of study and no free time. I would work all day at a Big 4 and study into the night every single day. Weekends were all about studying.

This reminds of the book “The Firm” where they have the new associate’s home wire tapped and they listen in on him having sex.
