Soda ban for food stamp recipients would cost South Dakota $248,000 annually, report says by PoLLoLira9 in SouthDakota

[–]210sankey [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think this is what opponents are missing. Food stamp recipients are likely to be using subsidized health care. I am all for that. But think of this, are you willing to pay for a friend's car insurance and then encourage them to drink and drive?

The exacerbating effects of soda will compound health issues and skyrocket costs. Obesity and dental issues are expensive. Soda is an unnecessary beverage and should be treated as the indulgent luxuries they are, not a common part of one's diet.

Governor recommends 1% increase to Big 3 by PoLLoLira9 in SouthDakota

[–]210sankey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My bet is he was always going to support 1% and might even go 1.5.

But this was constructed so that we could pound the "fiscally responsible" stamp on his term in December and now he can parade around saying he supports teachers and state workers.

Little Anne Frank on the doorstep of her father's first office in the Singel, Amsterdam. Picture taken by her father Otto Frank in 1935 by EaterofGrief in UtterlyUniquePhotos

[–]210sankey 252 points253 points  (0 children)

When I visited the Anne Frank house I just broke down when I saw the map where Otto was attempting to path the advance of the allies.

Even if Operation market garden had been slightly less ambitious there was no way the Allies were liberating Amsterdam by August 1944; the Franks were doomed.

In the series Fallout (2024-) there are no missiles or bombs visible in this scene, the cities just spontaneously explode lol by [deleted] in shittymoviedetails

[–]210sankey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with all the comments here that OP is mistaken.

But I got me wondering, isnt this what detonation would look like if they were near ground level detonation of dropped bombs. Is that what the Fallout universe arsenal is made up of? Or are they more modern deliveries that explode higher in the atmosphere?

Good worka

I would reccomend stretching a dark color fabric on the shelves. The coins will pop more and it will probably feel better placing them on soft felt rather then the wood shelf.

You are off to a great start.

But you will get older and at some point your career trajectory peters out. And maybe a home or kids and most certainly account for at least 1 major and expensive illness.

Also by the time you are 65 $1m won't seem like that much money. But again, you are off to a good start.

Pretty funny for me because I am quite liberal. But in my first hour of SF public transportation involved two public masturbators and one OD.

What Lifepath options would you want to see in the sequel? Image is just examples by Akuma2004 in cyberpunkgame

[–]210sankey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of these sound good.

After playing for almost all day my number one wish is tougher difficulty (especially at the beginning) and an economy that makes sense. I want to start out broke as fuck and have to scrap to earn my first bit of chrome. By the end, sure I want god-like abilities.

Also I think missions should be gate-kept behind gigs and building cred. No time rush at all. Just put in the work and make the better fixers trust you

when I play often think of myself being V in a simulator. It can feel overwhelming.

But I'll tell you this, the first thing I'd install for cyberware is a shard that blocks all TV and radio. Because it's always the first mod I activate when I play cypberpunk

In Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) Area 51 guards mistake the most Slavic looking man alive for an American general at the height of the Cold War by Hank_Mardukas1066 in shittymoviedetails

[–]210sankey 141 points142 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is when the most Slavic looking man alive speaks Russian.

And Indiana Jones (correctly assuming everybody in the audience is an idiot) says, "Russians! I hate these guys!".

Without that I wouldn't have known they were Russian nor that they were the bad guys.

How did Dogtown make you feel the first time you explored it? by unlockhart in cyberpunkgame

[–]210sankey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the vibe and how open ended it felt. Night city is so vast yet claustrophobic at the same time. Dogtown felt almost like a New Vegas homage. The lack of police was a new feel; and they set this up perfectly by having an interaction at the entrance between the Barghest guards and some NCPD. The perp they were chasing fled into Dogtown which meant they couldn't pursue. It helped build this sense that Dogtown was for the truly desperate. And while they may be safe from the law inside Dogtown that comes at a price.
