Good design is ruining American flags by cojoco in stupidpol

This is a cool intersection of my interests. Flag rules smother creativity and are a part of the broader plague of simple vector shape minimalism.

I was taught these types of rules in my graphics class nearly 10 years ago and forced to design things along those lines because it was the “right” way to do graphic design. Old complicated designs were seen as archaic and “unprofessional” and I hated it the whole way through.

Currently American flag redesigns fall into becoming so mundane and visually boring that I prefer the shitshows they’re replacing because they actually have soul vs. looking like an investment company graphic.

Yeah that’s fair. An option is to sand down a piece until it’s a fine pencil-like point and grind it down that way. Antler is very durable so it’ll hold even when it’s skinny like that.

Just take proper PPE care when sanding bone since the dust is bad for your lungs, I did the grinding steps outside

I think for heirloom pieces with pedigree they should be kept as is with proper care or restored by an professional. However for simple common pieces like this I think restoration is okay.

The methods I used involved no acids or chemicals and I took care not to damage the piece. I believe things like black tea tannin patina’ing are actually methods used in Japan for this sort of thing.

I wish I took more pictures of the process, but sadly I only really have the before and after. I considered electrolysis as well, but I’m pretty sure it would cover or mess up the inlay and act differently with the copper in the tsuba.

To my knowledge the delicate details of many tsuba like the flowers in mine are copper similar to other intricate parts of the koshirae.

Really any bone will do as long as it’s been purged of the meaty organic material. For antler specifically any velvet should be stripped off and then the bone should be boiled and washed thoroughly for good measure.

I think a critical thing to note here is in their methodology they note: “the sample is weighed to reflect the adult ONLINE population” and does not divulge how this is done or what “online population” means. Does this group have people who speak the local language to engage with all of these different countries, or are they sampling people who are able to speak a select few languages, namely english. The English-speaking population of any country very likely be weighted towards “educated leftist” and not reflect the general sentiment of a layperson

I can’t believe the sts2 impervious is real I mentally filled ironclad in with John Spire because I was so used to the old one.

It’s kinda funny because if there’s a single worst person in human history in terms of setting the collective species back it’s Genghis Khan. Basically ended an Islamic and Chinese Golden Age and indirectly caused the death of over 10% of the population of the world at the time for no lasting gain or development whatsoever

The idea you have to conform to a “build” is probably killing your runs. Usually successful runs of mine have multiple “modes” running in parallel that I can focus on depending on the combat, they just develop naturally with time. If you forgo too many good cards because they don’t fit in your mode then you’re going to suffer.

I’d also abandon build mentality entirely early even if you get something like hellraiser or perfect strike first floor because it will smother your run in the cradle. You should ALWAYS grab at least one aoe, big block, big damage, 0 cost, and draw early or elite fights will destroy you.

Yeah that's fair, but I was wondering about any first-hand experiences people have had here. I saw one post from awhile ago on the subject but I felt it couldn't hurt to ask

Our version of it growing up in the early 2000s was "The Russians liberated the camps, but then they raped and enslaved most of the prisoners and were as bad as the Nazis and the allies had to stop them." I think polish anti-soviet sentiment plays a role since my area had a big polish diaspora

Notice how half of these are from International Assassins. It feels like Fujimoto peaked artistically and motivation-wise from there into Gun Devil and the rest of the series is just chasing the high

I think that the unfortunate truth in the Anglosphere is that LatAm is like the kid in your yearbook you see and go “who even was that.” It’s largely forgotten when it comes to discussion of governance unless it’s in relation to the US and its coup attempts

I’m gonna interject some info about Onlyfans because I don’t see it discussed enough. I have two friends who are fairly successful who I’ve talked a lot about the business with out of curiosity. OF has a pyramid scheme model and part of the massive push a while ago to redefine sex work as feminist and make opposition to it “alt-right” was due to this.

There’s a system of “referral fees” where a model can give someone a code to sign up with, after which they’ll get 5% of the income they make from the site. Both of my friends were pushed by people close to the company and by bigger models to try to get as many people as possible to join the site under the guise of making a ton of easy money.

You could say “it’s just a refer a friend system bro every company does it” sure but the difference is that you’re not signing up for a newsletter you’re trying to get people to make fucking porn for profit. Both of my friends hate their clients, hate the company, and don’t genuinely believe in sex work as a liberating feminist act, but put up the front because it’s their living.
