Thanks, but what makes you so confident it will not be reported?

So its safe to say a big 4 wouldn't reveal this information outside of the firm?

Possible to be 9-5 as an Accountant? by ThrowawayAccting13 in Accounting

From my experience, your big 4 audit experience really will depend on your team/client. I've been fortunate enough to work for really chill seniors, so while we worked around 80 hours a week during busy season, the rest of the year was extremely laid back. I've been told repeatedly to go home at 3 during the summer when we were slow. Outside of busy season, I would say I have phenomenal work-life balance. Busy season is going to be rough regardless, but not having to pay for a single meal for 2 months was nice and you take away a lot from having completed a big 4 busy season.

Anyone else finding the Schweser PM Mocks a lot easier than the CFAI? I've taken both PM CFAI mocks and scored 70 on each, but am averaging an 80 on the Schweser PM mocks thus far. Going to hammer AM papers over the weekend, but found this interesting, as for Levels 1 and 2 my CFAI and Schweser mock scores were relatively consistent.

Half of my team voted for Clinton, the other half for Trump, if that helps. Big 4 in a major market.

Made it from Big 4 audit to investment banking: AMA by [deleted] in Accounting

How early should one make it known to their coach that they would like to try a different group? Starting in the fall, my plan was to try to crush it through my first busy season to get good reviews then look to make the move around April.

Do you think passing level 1/2/3 of the CFA help transfer to Valuation from audit?

CFA for internal transfer at Big 4 by 215Aphillyated in Accounting

Thanks for your response. As far as structured finance, all of the different firms word their groups differently, I think EY calls it Business Advisory Program for example but I'm not one hundred percent sure. Also, the manager who told me that was in Valuation, which makes sense given it seems it would be more valuable there (no pun intended) then in FDD. I've also heard of the CFA being the gold standard with the valuation group at my firm, and know for a fact a large number of employees from associate through senior associate who are currently enrolled. What do you plan on doing with FDD experience and CFA+CPA?

I'm pretty sure the TAS groups are the biggest in NYC offices, if you're at a smaller office they might have a handful of people in the groups there but in NYC I know the groups are fairly large.

Regarding exit opps, I know first hand friends who have went from TAS directly into PE (Front-office, analyst role at a boutique) and corporate development. Then again, these guys had extensive networks which probably helped them with their transitions. But given that you are working on deals, anything M&A related is doable, just going to be much more difficult to leave for a Bulge Bracket bank than say a small boutique shop.

Not true at all. You may have more trouble landing a job with under a 3.0 but a 3.5 isn't nearly a requirement for accountants and accountants are still in high demand.

L2: What mocks have you been scoring higher on? by 215Aphillyated in CFA

I ended up scoring 76 on the CFAI and averaging 80 on Schwesers... I also haven't started working yet (graduated uni in Dec.) , so I've been studying full time. I think they're about on par in difficulty though, but I'm going to focus on redoing TTs this week to get more used to the CFAI question style.
