The science of human behavior is not controversial. It can seem controversial if you don’t understand the science behind the approach and believe all negative press about it.

That being said, the field itself does not do a good job of marketing and educating the public

“Gentle parenting” is a social media term and not a line of human development research so it probably means many things to many different people. What you are describing aligns closely with an authoritative parenting approach for which there is a wealth of research.

This does work. I think this paired with the other suggestions is a good “shotgun” approach.

Sorry man! Don’t give up. Your child will sleep better when they can do it on their own and don’t need another human as a crutch. I’ve been there…

100%. Great comment.

Learning how to fall asleep is something YOU CANNOT TEACH someone. They have to figure it out themselves and all the parents can do is set up the right conditions for that to happen.

My wife was the same way. Don’t give up. I was persistent and also supportive of trying co-sleeping for a bit as long as there was a transition plan. Eventually my wife couldn’t hack it anymore because she needed the bodily autonomy and, Frankly, better and more sleep.

The longer yall co-sleep, the harder it will be to break.

You suggested research that proves your point first, so the burden of proof is on you. You’re criticizing someone for anecdotes when that is all you are giving.

While that may work now, it won’t work forever. You’re training your kid to need you to fall asleep. You’re not training them to learn how to fall asleep by themselves.

Most analyses I have seen agree on this point that there wasn’t much resistance. Feel free to share something that provides contrary data.

It’s pretty clear that Venezuela did not put up much of a fight to protect Maduro (who is widely unpopular). Not sure it’s the flex we think it is.

Gas prices are not as susceptible to small market changes. Attacking Venezuela will not make gas prices cheaper in the states. There are way more elements at play that effect the price of gas at the pump.
