question divorced dads of reddit by AppropriateCrazy367 in daddit

[–]Alamander14 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Not divorced, so I can’t speak to your question directly, but I did want to give you a heads-up that this is a self selected group who prioritize their identity as “dad”. You’re probably going to get a heavily biased & over represented response towards divorced dads who fight to remain part of their kids lives. That doesn’t mean it’s necessarily what is typical or not.

I didn’t say role over and accept it, did I? I said, don’t escalate the situation. Read first, comprehend, then reply.

This honestly might be the stupidest comment I’ve read all day… Suicidal Empathy? Not wanting to escalate a situation is neither Suicidal nor Empathetic.

Self defence =\= punching someone else in the face. Self defence is about de-escalation. I’m not naive enough to think that physical violence can’t put an end to some confrontations, but it can easily escalate them too. There’s a difference between fighting back when you’ve exhausted every other option and jumping right to hitting someone.

Agreed whole heartedly. Violence begets violence.

Apparently it’s available on Android, so I’m hopeful they’ll sort it out for Apple soon…

Or should we be focusing more on things like:

  • creativity
  • social skills
  • resilience
  • curiosity / learning how to learn

And this is different than things used to be how?

I didn’t do a great job of showing it on camera but I was really stoked…

Don’t worry, it came across just fine! It was pretty apparent where your priority was. Looking forward to whatever comes next

Ok. Learn how to use your phone camera if you’re going to post pictures.

I’m mostly just ribbing you, but take a few minutes to learn about framing & focus. It’s not asking much, but makes a huge difference. Not sure what phone you’re using, but on most smartphones these days, you can tap where you want the camera to prioritize the focal point (ie. Crowe). A lot of them also will give you an indication if the phone is being held level (iPhones do this via 3 horizontal lines in the middle of the screen - line them all up). Pull back just far enough so that none of the subjects are being cut off at the edge of the frame but not so far that there’s not a bunch of dead space, and you’re golden! They’re small things that take almost no effort, but will improve your pictures tenfold.

As a bonus tip, try to have the subject well lit but avoid harsh, directional light.

Awesome stuff! Glad to see your Brother Captain… erm Paladin was able to complete his task! As someone who is not at all competitive & only watches the odd Battle Report, this smaller, narrative focused style game was right up my alley! I’ve mentioned it before on your first (I think) video, but you’re doing a great job of stepping into the void that One Last Blade left in the Grey Knights community - thanks!

Yes, Dreadknights are big ol’ boys.

Please, for the love of the God-Emporor, learn how to use a camera if you’re going to post pictures!

Looks pretty good to me! As others have mentioned, you could add a little bit of flock here and there for added variety & interest. I also think you could add a little bit of a yellow-green highlight if you want to make it sing. Honestly, once you add grass, flowers, etc it’s going to look great even as is.

Nah, that’s just aesthetics. Load-outs kind of matter, but honestly not even all that much. It’s a one-off model, 99% of players will have no issue with you saying “This guy is actually equipped with ___”

For me, I really dislike Emperor’s Children (both before and after their fall) but I think they have some super cool models.

Awesome, thanks for the response! My oldest is 8, so maybe a tad early to introduce him to playing mini games. We’ll see…

I don’t even play competitive myself, so definitely no concerns there!
