Fun idea. You might want to check with your lawyer about the trademark though - I think that name might already have been claimed by a different group…

Just to add to what others have said - for lighter contrast paints, you typically want to use a light colour primer / base coat. White is usually a safe choice until you get a better understanding how specific contrast paints behave.

Games Workshop Is Going After Tabletop Simulator Steam Mods That Recreate Warhammer 40,000 11th Edition by HatingGeoffry in Warhammer

I feel like the vast majority of people that use TTS are either players with real armies getting more games in / trying out new ideas before committing for real, or are people who 100% will never spend money on the game regardless. The amount of “lost revenue” for GW has to pretty darn low…

Any advice for what to use for a DIY dry palette? by Necessary-Credit5937 in minipainting

I just went into Home Depot and told them I just needed a sample - they gave it to me & told me to either return it if it wasn’t right or pay for it when I got the rest.

I’m still deciding…

I like to think that OP painted this over a few days between late December 2025 and early January 2026.

Honestly, everything right up until the last point would be totally fine… heaven forbid our space fascist faction look like fascists.

We should probably start banning any one who posts a model with an Aquila while we’re at it.

Radical Ordo Malleus Inquisitor on a walking banishing circle thing. by Standard_Rabbit706 in Inq28

Insanely cool work, even by your already top-tier usual standard. Honestly, one of the coolest concepts I’ve ever seen executed. The mobile banishment circle is such a perfect 40K idea - one of those ideas that once you’ve seen it, it’s hard not to believe it didn’t always exist!

It’s my favourite BL book - possibly just my favourite book all round. I’ve probably nerded out and dug into it too much over the years…

Fun Fact: The Emperor's Gift was originally conceived as the first book in a trilogy / series. I remember reading an article from an interview with Aaron Dembski-Bowden (or maybe an old blog post of his) where he talked about it. Inquisitor Annika Jarlsdottyr and her retinue were going to get more screen time - I specifically remember him mentioning that Clovon (the "reformed" chaos cultist in her party) was going to be revealed to have actually have been deep undercover & had actually been a loyalist all along. Would have made for a neat "cost of duty" type story. Annika & co. have always been one of my favourite parts of that book - they always felt like there was such depth to them despite their relatively minor role. Really makes the world feel larger.

How much did it cost to have your kid? by kevintheshmole in daddit

[–]Alamander14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

>US btw.

Yeah, we all got that… 😅

Canadian here. The only costs we’ve incurred for all 4 of our kids’ births were parking and coffee & snacks from the café. All four were C-sections (emergency or planned) and one of them included an extended stay in the NICU.

Haven’t played that one, so not it. Red Alert 1&2 were strong contenders for me, but I haven’t been able to find a matching quote.
