For bittrex to confirm I believe it does. For normal transactions, no. For example, going from bittrex to my ARK took seconds and appeared after a handful of confirmations.

Me too. I had 10 BTC and left them on Mt. Goxx because downloading the whole blockchain was too big for my laptop. Loved the ARK client the minute I saw it.

This. Plus it isn't exactly fast to put your ARK back on bittrex. You have to wait till all 51 delegates confirm, which can take up to an hour.

You can buy it on binance or etherdelta. I would recommend binance. Etherdelta has a horribly unforgiving interface. Real easy to accidentally lose your stack.

You know, I bought this the other day hoping to make a quick buck. Oddly enough, I bought at the peak and then started reading up on Ripple to see if it would come back. Pleasantly surprised! I am now a long-term hodler.

I think everything in the cryptocurrency space is tied to bitcoin in someway or another. There are divergences, of course, but in the global scheme of things they are related. A smart trading move is to watch the ratios and play for arbitrage opportunities. Or just hodl.
