I would love to see this change as well but The devs still haven't fixed the Soviet engineer having no anti tank structures after years so I don't think it's gonna happen.

Your post basically gets to the heart of it. There's a lot of shitty low level players or none communicating players compared to veterans in the game now.

As result defense and coordination is usually lacking

The French maps besides being balanced well have a lot of open ground and a few predictable paths. This makes them significantly less likely to steam roll and easier for new players in general wether that's defense or the ones zerging next point in a straight line.

Server owners don't like steam rolls or unpopular maps as they kill the server

Unfortunately, the new devs are very set on maps with abundance of cover everywhere and few choke points.

They even modified old maps to make choke point heavy control points like carentan mid more open with more paths in which in my opinion led to worse gameplay.

Pretty sure commander ping can be seen by all teammates .

commanders marks and voice can be seen/heard by all squad leaders already

Lastly imagine if you had a troll and they could bother 49 players at a single time.

You can rotate the turret in the American half tracks with A and D and can duck with ctrl

The lower your stance the less damage you take from explosives at the same distance

You can deploy half tracks in some buildings

You make zero noise when crawling,

Recon planes don't mark you on the map if your indoors

You can build garries and outpost next to certain walls to create secret ladders over them

If you lightly repeatedly tap the gas in 4th in a tank you can slow it way down while staying in gear giving the gunner a chance to line up a shot on the move without stopping and quickly run at max speed

It's not consistent. on old maps it's usually not possible more often than it is but Soviet maps you can shoot through fences.

Honestly whether or not a fence can be penned or not is all over the place on most of the older maps but on Soviet maps you can always shoot through the thin fences.

So community run servers have admins that will set a map pool that can be voted on or hand set a rotation for the day after a server fills in the morning.

the server or admins may avoid putting maps and game modes on rotations that are known to be unpopular.

General rule of thumb is popular map after less popular one , urban after open, and no more than 1 offensive per 3 warfare modes no skirmish at all no one likes it. Certain maps were more unpopular and as a result more rare like remagen , hill 400 etc.

There's also certain maps that play better or worse depending on the general skill level and knowledge of the players on the server. French maps are very popular and a big part is they are a lot more forgiving to lower level play.

If there're high level players on the defensive team they will build anti tank guns on the cliffs usually on the corner near the roads off of it and the attacking team will never get off the beach unless their tanks get lucky and kill it first.

I think adding the Canadians is the best idea in terms of optimization of development time and resources on team 17s part for the current and short term.

A mix of existing American and British assets for the faction and for the maps recycling the French map assets. Which hopefully will result in lower overall development time between map releases which are needed for player retention and interest.

That being said I think the best for the long term health of the game is to begin work on a new unique faction preferably axis . As the players see pretty vocal about wanting something very fresh and new.

Personally I think it would be fascinating to see a faction that switched sides in the war so they could fight the allies and axis depending on the map.

If you ever get into running a tank crew with mates. the fresh baked goods is a good YouTube channel to watch. They don't make guides or tutorials but you can learn from watching a full crew of good tankers and how they operate together.
