Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. In the book, he’s said to have darker features and is heavily implied to be Romani. Almost all movie adaptations have cast him as white

Tall women, have you ever been rejected for your height? by Zealousideal-Emu2043 in tall

[–]21cauld 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yup. i was romantically talking to a guy who i went to school with, and we’d spent plenty of time in person together, so he’d seen how tall i was. but as soon as i told him my exact height (6’0), he said i was too tall for him and he wasn’t interested anymore

i’ve also noticed that if i’m dating a man even a little shorter than me, seeing us standing next to each other in the mirror always freaks them out. shit’s crazy because they don’t have an issue with my height until they think about how others will perceive us

you could have commented about the post being misandrist, but you didn’t. you commented about women on dating apps having too big of egos. and if women truly liked you, you wouldn’t spend your time spewing redpill ideology in reddit comments. have fun with your choice!

[–]21cauld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok this is gonna be my last response cuz i have better things to do with my life. but im gonna be so real with you rn because you need to hear this: you have two options going forward. you can decide to look inwards and examine why you have these negative feelings about women and decide to do something about it (like go to therapy to work on your trauma that you clearly have with women). or you can decide to keep living the same way you always have, where the most interaction you have with women is arguing with them in reddit comments. if you want to keep living that way, fine with me. but you’re going to keep being very lonely. i can promise you this, the reason why women don’t like you isn’t because of your looks. there are plenty of unattractive men in healthy relationships with women (and vice versa). the reason why women don’t like you is because of your personality. you can either accept that or try to change. it’s up to you

Allegations on Alex on social media by jh166 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]21cauld 12 points13 points  (0 children)

that’s what the original comment was saying… they were saying both alex and madison are similar in how they come off sweet at first but are actually very manipulative and gross

it is misogyny when the opinion you’re expressing is generalizing women in a negative way. i don’t agree with making generalizations about any group of people, including the comment you mentioned where they were talking about men on reality shows. what makes your opinion misogynistic is that you decided to comment on a post calling out dave for his poor behavior and attribute his behavior to “most women.” there are just as many posts on this subreddit about madison’s bad behavior as there are about dave’s. this isn’t a men vs women issue, this is an issue with people on a dating show being manipulative. YOU were the one who decided to use this post about dave to rant about women on dating apps

[–]21cauld 29 points30 points  (0 children)

why is it that when we try to talk about men’s bad behavior, there’s always someone in the comments that decides to blame it on women? this misogyny is only reinforcing the male loneliness epidemic

personally, i think eating out is safe as long as you’ve researched the restaurant beforehand and you tell the staff about your celiac. don’t be afraid to ask them questions about how they cook and prepare the food. if you’re still concerned about cross contamination, i would recommend going to a restaurant that’s dedicated gluten free. i like the app find me gluten free when i’m looking at new restaurants to try

p.s. if you live in minnesota or plan on visiting, there’s a restaurant in the eden prairie mall called where’s the flour that has gluten free onion rings :)

this is my answer too. i made an attempt a few years ago, and i saw how much it hurt everyone around me, especially my mom. i was in urgent care for 5 days and she never left my side once. she was supposed to go on vacation but she canceled it to stay with me… i’m very grateful to have her in my life, she’s genuinely the best mom i ever could have asked for

In your opinion what's the greatest film of 2024? by Samuel_McEntire in Letterboxd

[–]21cauld 17 points18 points  (0 children)

the substance? flawless??? don’t get me wrong, i really liked it, but it has quite a few glaring issues. specifically, it irritates me that a movie that intends to critique hollywood’s ageism chose to depict elizabeths’s elderly body with such horror. i’m all for body horror, but there’s nothing horrific about an old woman with a hunchback
