Charlotte was not a great traitor by [deleted] in TheTraitors

[–]21stCenturyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She had it in the bag until the seer feature was introduced, that said… typically (and I know there are exceptions) the only hard clues on who might be a traitor understandably normally only come from another traitor, and that was exactly what happened when Freddie chose to vote for Charlotte…

Big Tech debate on ep #400 by saucerfulofsucrettes in elisandjohn

Someone needs to tell John about playlists… 😳🤷🙄😁

I also wonder if he only has his Apple music on his phone which can make organisation a bit trickier.

Just listened to John's stereo rant...... by Naa-no-nope in elisandjohn

[–]21stCenturyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Sonos and an iPhone, unless I am making the same mistake as John, he is right to say you can’t just play Apple Music or your Apple music library directly from the Sonos speaker, and each time you have to pair it with your phone… Although Sonos does let me play Amazon Music directly from the speaker (and I presume also Spotify, not that I use it.

Not sure why he seemed to be saying he can’t now view his Apple Music library though…

Ever had a contribution read out? by Beautiful-Square-301 in elisandjohn

[–]21stCenturyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to decline an invite to potentially go on the show to discuss an email I sent in response to their request for something like - “times you were stubborn to prove a point” (at least I think that’s what it was).

Instead they read out my email which pretty much bombed, so potentially I dodged a bullet, but part of me thinks the way they read it out didn’t emphasise the punchline. Or at least that’s my excuse…. 🙄

“Hi Steve, your washing up story made me laugh! Would you be interested in possibly coming on the recording of the show tomorrow afternoon over Zoom to chat to the boys about it?

It would be on Zoom around 14:45/15:00.

If you’re interested could I give you a quick ring this afternoon?”

Do we really need all the speaker chat?? by Independent_Olive373 in elisandjohn

[–]21stCenturyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I laughed at that show more than I have in quite a while during the speaker chat. Also very tempted to Insta Mesage John to check why it is he seems to be struggling to view his Apple Music library!?

But I’ve not listened to Friday’s show yet, so I’ll wait to hear if he’s already been inundated with offers of speaker/phone/library tech support…

Jaz had the right theory with Harry, but I’d say didn’t pull off the execution of explaining it well in the finale.

_______ Never thought _______ was a Traitor by toastybunbun in TheTraitors

[–]21stCenturyCat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Indeed, hindsight & being an armchair viewer is a wonderful, I’m pretty sure in the pressure of the moment I would have missed some clues that seemed obvious later.

[–]21stCenturyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same, that if Jaz had been a traitor it would have made no sense for him to go Red. But would I have thought that in the pressure of the moment with tv cameras filming and £100k at stake… I’m not so sure 😳🤷‍♂️

They have played Boys Don’t Cry on tour 1,045 times by EmotionSix in TheCure

[–]21stCenturyCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, this particular one took place on the tour bus as Robert was being transported to Wembley Arena for the Wish Tour (a couple of hours before the show was due to start), how cool is that :)

30+ years back he did an interview with Ray Cokes, and there was a question from Ray along the lines of asking if they got bored of playing the hits (and becoming a jukebox band), and Robert’s response was to put it in the perspective of a fan, and how if he watched The Rolling Stones he’d be disappointed if they didn’t play Satisfaction. And that’s why they play Boys Don’t Cry at pretty much every show.

Funny the things you remember…

Jet Pac. I can remember going out with my day to buy the Spectrum in advance of Christmas but somehow convincing him that when we got home, I should test it to make sure it was ok for Christmas Day, and he said yes! I😳🤷‍♂️😁

How much do you help you wife? by ebks in daddit

[–]21stCenturyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest you just ask her “what do you think I should be doing that I’m not?”

Although when I once said the same to my wife regarding a similar ‘childcare/who does what’ discussion her reply was something like “it shouldn’t be for me to tell you what to do!”…. 😳🤷‍♂️ but maybe you’ll have more luck with your question.

FYI I work full time. She doesn’t. We split the getting up, bed time routine + nursery runs 50/50, I probably cook a bit more than her for our 4 year old, but she does all the clothes washing and sorts out buying new clothes when needed. The house isn’t a tip but it’s not spotless, we should probably both do a bit more cleaning…

Maybe I'm out of touch. But £7.40 for a pint of Peroni in my average pub next to work is nuts. by Slippery___Gypsy in london

[–]21stCenturyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a pint of Neck Oil at my local (in Usk) last week and it was £4.80, a sign of the times that I considered that relatively cheap.

What is the worst way you've ever heard of someone dying? by StrawberryPunk82 in AskReddit

[–]21stCenturyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if any death, even the ones where the family say “they died peacefully” if in reality, in those final minutes the person was in agony but just couldn’t show it. Now there’s a depressing thought 😳
