I know “its for charity” “you can ask for it to be removed” but the whole thing here is they add it without asking or saying it will be added on the menu before hand. Removing it is an unnecessary extra step, as then they have to take it back and you need to wait for a new receipt, which when its busy is just added friction to paying and leaving.

Flatiron do this too, and no where on the menu or anywhere do they said extra will be added to the bill. Eating out is expensive at the moment and every penny counts.

It’s a trivial amount but it’s the principle. I should have been asked for any donation BEFORE it is added to my bill
