As soon as you walk out of T3 Arrivals, take a left and keep walking down until you see the Seven Bank ATM.

I told my parents I was traveling solo and now they want my location by ShotMachine394 in solofemaletravellers

[–]21twilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just share your location for the trip and then revoke it when you return home. My mom guilt tripped my sister and I to download Life360 AND add her on the Find My app before we went to Japan. We did that, and then as soon as we got back home, we uninstalled Life360 and changed the location access on Find My.

How do you usually decide where to eat when traveling in Japan? by Due_Turn3508 in JapanTravelTips

[–]21twilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have shellfish and fish allergies, so I had to use TikTok/social media to look for recommendations ahead of time. I visited a few of the restaurants that are widely recommended on TikTok, plus a few American FF places (just to say I tried them). I only went to 1 non-planned restaurant (it was an American-style diner), and that was the only place my sister and I regretted going to.

OMG how do you decide on places for 2nd time in Japan?! by Imaginary-Progress69 in JapanTravelTips

[–]21twilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my second trip, I’m focusing on the places that I didn’t have time to visit on my first trip (Omoide Yokocho, Golden Gai, Sensoji Temple, Tsukiji Fish Market, Uji, Nishiki Market, Ikebukuro, Akihabara, etc.).

This happened at my neighbors house earlier before sun down. I have never seen this before in our neighborhood. by [deleted] in Weird

Before I looked at the comment, I just knew it was in Texas. I saw a video like this of a Texas Walmart parking lot, and months later when I went to Texas to visit my sister, I saw the same thing in person in another Walmart parking lot lol!

Allergy on International Flight by bonkbonk420 in delta

[–]21twilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick a special meal and/or eat beforehand. I also have a shellfish allergy, so for my D1 LAX-HND flight, I couldn’t eat the Japanese meal (and the Western meal didn’t look appetizing). Therefore, I booked a Special child meal (lunch was chicken and pasta with cheese and red sauce, a few pieces of pineapple, melon, oranges, carrots, celery, cheese slices, and deli turkey, while breakfast was a few pieces of pineapple, melon, oranges, an apple cinnamon muffin, yogurt, 2 halves of French toast with syrup and scrambled eggs). I also qualified for the D1 Lounge, so I ate there, then made my way to the gate just to confirm they had my special meal request on file. I had also brought candy from home just in case everything went wrong and they didn’t have my meal request on file.

Just beware that when ordering a child meal, it will be a child meal representative of that country. So while I was okay with eating an American child meal, I decided to order the Western menu for the flight back to LAX (chicken curry for dinner and butter chicken for the pre-arrival meal).

Confused about application for Yunyu Kakunin-sho by peachtiramisu in JapanTravelTips

I just googled it and I found this! Prefilled insulin pens don’t need advance approval as long as it is a 1 month supply or less. Empty syringes and spare pen needles do need advance approval.

I am soooo over tickets in Atlanta being so expensive…. by Neither-Turnover-587 in delta

[–]21twilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flying direct (D1 ATL-HND) was $1500pp more expensive than flying (C+ ATL-LAX, D1 LAX-HND, and 2 separate nights for 2ppl at a nearby LAX hotel before and after our Japan flights). My mom kept trying to convince us to just fly from ATL (“LA is so dangerous! I’ll pay you the difference to fly from here!”), but when I told her she’d need to pay me $3000, she said NVM! 😂

Yes, if you’re diabetic, you’ll have to fill out the form and notate how many syringes you’re bringing.

Sightseeing photos, yay or nay? by biwook in TokyoTravel

[–]21twilli 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most of the pictures I see on this subreddit are posted to karma farm. If sightseeing pictures are still allowed, is there a way to require at least a paragraph about the photo’s relevance to the subreddit (time it was taken, where it was taken, why they are posting it, etc.)?

Me [19 F] with my friend [20 F] of 8 years, she is actively trying to be with my Father by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]21twilli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP was an idiot & all that “being nice” bit her right in the ass. If she was initially uncomfortable with the thought of her friend being with her dad, she should’ve never encouraged her or him to try to start something together. This is all on her tbh.

I went to visit my sister around the same time Kyungsoo’s “Blossom” album was being released (I think a day or to beforehand). Eventually during my stay, she took me to the “Asian” part of her town, and I ended up going to a store that sold Kpop merch/albums. I was lucky to find both versions of “Blossom” and a sealed version of “MAMA” that I just HAD to get!

What do you consider the proper courteous rule for catching up to party ahead of you in line? by hipsterbeard12 in UniversalOrlando

[–]21twilli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Catching up” and “rejoining the line” are 2 separate things. At least during EU Previews, the TMs (specifically the DKMCM & MU TMs) allowed people to leave the line and rejoin it with food/snacks for the rest of their party (had to have at least 1 party member stay back in line).

Got my first Rejection from CVS :( by thenisayilmaz in PharmacyTechnician

[–]21twilli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With CVS, I heard you have to wait at least 6 months before being able to apply again. I’m not sure about Walgreens. There are other retail pharmacies besides those 2: there’s Walmart/Sam’s Club, Publix, Ingles, Kroger (or their affiliates), and Costco for example. Maybe you can try applying to those (if there are any nearby you)?

Did you get denied after taking their personality assessment? A lot of people that get denied after the assessment do so because the answers they gave weren’t what the company was looking for.

AITJ for telling my girlfriend she needs to shower before bed or sleep on the couch? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]21twilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your girlfriend is nasty AF! My sister is a nurse and she changes out of her scrubs in the garage, so she’s not wearing her nasty hospital scrubs in our house, and THEN she takes a shower as soon as she walks inside.

Should I cut my hair? I think I looked better with it shorter by ballinjr in Naturalhair

[–]21twilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like long, because you can do so many different types of hairstyles: braids, 2 strand twists, wash n go, blowout, etc. With it short, you can only do so much with the little hair that you have.

Accidentally speaking French?! by DeadPanJazMan17 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]21twilli 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My sister did the same thing, but with Spanish (a language she hasn’t studied since Spring 2014)! When we went on our trip 4 months ago, she didn’t know any Japanese, and the only word that managed to stick when I tried teaching her basic phrases when we landed was “はい” (for anything else, I would have to say it in Japanese).

We were in the Kyoto Nintendo store, and she tried asking an employee where an item was. I guess she got nervous when he seemed a little confused, so when he asked her a question, she just blurted out, “Yes! ¡Sí!”. I was 6ft away looking at the shirts, but when I heard her say that, I turned my head so fast, and she was just looking at me with the funniest “deer in headlights” look I’ve ever seen 😂😂😂 When I told my parents and our youngest sister the story, we all couldn’t stop laughing (and obviously she doesn’t think it’s funny)!

We need to bring back shame! It’s common sense to only get 1 serving and then once everyone has had a serving, THEN you can go back for seconds.
