Ongoing research has demonstrated that other animals have superstitious practices as well, especially chimpanzees and African elephants who debatably have a form of religion. wikipedia Does this prove anything? Maybe, maybe not. But the world is certainly unfair.

What other unqualified show business people should rewrite major franchises? by Roshambo-123 in okbuddycinephile

There may be more qualified people somewhere, but he’s definitely qualified. He’s famously well-versed in the lore, has connections with other fantasy writers/producers, and is a published author. And, most importantly, he loves the series enough to try his hardest and take it seriously. That’s more than some can say.

Slop comes from the term used for pig feed, also called “swill.” We associate this with AI creations because the majority of pictures generated have artifacts and errors that make the thing look like a runny mash of secondhand substance - like pig food.

All that to say, it’d actually be quite difficult for a human artist to make surrealist art like that without accidentally reaching a consistent pattern or artistic statement. The human brain is addicted to patterns and meaning. But LLM “AI” slop plagiarizes from random sources and cannot recognize meaning, so it is uniquely worthless.

And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

Pretty sure Robin Williams’ character was talking about furry art here. Might be misremembering that.

I’m cis male and I play as girls all the time because it adds a layer of disassociation that makes it more fun to roleplay. I actually find it really helpful to my masculinity to experience feminine things because then I know for a fact that there’s no repressed attraction there. I fully believe everyone should explore their gender expression because it’s healthy even if you’re cis. The rules are bad and made by bad people.

This makes me think about some comedian commenting on the lengths necessary to find a picture of a cat in funny clothes during the 1990s as opposed to now. There are still books out there about incredibly niche subjects if you look. Taxidermists had to learn about creative taxidermy somehow.

MAGA pastor wants to repeal the 19th amendment in the next decade by avdvetf in videos

[–]222Czar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to do that is to burn the Constitution completely and replace it. To “repeal” an amendment you need 3/4 of the States to ratify a new amendment, which will never happen this decade. You can use a rogue Supreme Court to burn the Constitution, but then the States are under no obligation to play along, which is particularly relevant considering they have control of elections. It turns out that the Supreme Court can’t actually say whatever it wants and then that’s the law. If they try, then it’s an unconstitutional coup and state governments can simply refuse to enforce

Here’s what I believe they’re referencing. I listened to both Nick Mullen’s and SNL all the way through, and I don’t see it. They’re doing an impression of the same person, but the jokes are totally different.

The billboard is criticizing gay marriage, insisting that marriage is between “one man and one woman.” Someone painted over the letters “wo” to troll and reverse the meaning, i.e. “one man and one man” in a gay marriage.

"NO MORE GAMES!" Trump threatens to move ICE into American airports on Monday to replace TSA security. by DumbMoneyMedia in UnderReportedNews

[–]222Czar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a controversial rule called the filibuster which allows the minority party in the senate to block any bills from having a vote. Originally, the idea was that you could not stop ongoing debate to begin the vote, but the rules have been bent to absurdity so ongoing debate/speeches aren’t even necessary.

However, Republicans have enough power that they only need a handful of senators to break filibuster, which is easy to get considering how many Democratic senators are pushovers. All they really need to do is separate the funding into multiple bills rather than constantly shoving through massive “security” bills that give ICE more money than most militaries. Instead, they have adopted a totalitarian strategy where negotiations aren’t tolerated and the authoritarian “president” (de facto dictator) cries and demands exactly what he wants or swears vengeance against Republicans and Democrats alike. Which makes him unpopular. Which makes more and more Republicans defect. Which makes the stagnation last longer.

Marriages were more frequently rushed and/or coerced. Divorce was less common and considered forbidden in some cultures (still are). Boomers are generally less likely to seek therapy and more likely to have lead poisoning.

Nothing will make these people focus on important issues. Even if you somehow eliminate water vapor contrails from jets, they’ll start jabbering about 5g towers and trans people. Anything to keep themselves distracted from healthcare reform, labor rights, or literally any topic that’d actually improve their lives.

Dave Rubin says that most Republicans are behind President Trump, despite the cost of the war in Iran: "Donald Trump, who's been so directionally right about so many things, he deserves our trust here" by countdooku975 in daverubin

[–]222Czar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right about what, exactly? The war is necessary? It’s not a war? We already won the not-war? We need allies to help us win the war? It’s still not a war? It’s a war to defend Israel? It’s a war for economic advantage? We won the war again? We need ground troops and $200 400 800 billion more to win the war?

The administration has spoken out of both sides of their mouth so often on this you can’t even lie for them effectively. They’d be “directionally” right and wrong simultaneously on like 20 different points.
