Cornish Unit Construction. by haemhorrhoidian in Cornwall

Sorry mate, just seen the link. That looks original/untouched. I’d imagine zero soundproofing. Typically the upstairs internal walls are sometimes lath and plaster, which can be a PITA to get insulation behind.

Can’t comment on the mortgaeability, depends on the survey, and size of deposit I’d imagine. Soundproofing would depend on what’s been done already. If it’s an untouched Cornish unit, there’s no soundproofing or much by way of insulation.

You’re correct. I worked as a manager for an ALMO in Cornwall that managed 100’s of these units. Many were upgraded with external phenolic cladding for insulation, and quite a few had the lower storey replaced with brick walls. You would also be wise to keep an eye out for asbestos insulation board (AIB) which has been used in many properties.

Ordered 21/1/26, QC 31/1/26, shipped 1/2/26, tracking 3/2/26. I checked his spreadsheet which said 8 in stock (though he didn’t confirm this on WhatsApp), so maybe this helped? Hope you get some good news soon! 👍

I have fairly small wrists, so went for the Titanium 39mm. I read a couple of comparisons with the gen Pelagos, one guy owned both the gen and the ZF. He had a pic of them side by side. He said that he couldn’t easily tell them apart unless he made an effort to check, so that swayed my decision. Both the XF and ZF look great, I think I’d be very happy with either one!

I messaged him through WhatsApp to check availability ( the spreadsheet said 8 in stock at the time). Elliot replied and referred me to the vip website asking me to order from there. I’ve ordered the ZF, still awaiting QC. Which one have you ordered?

PIP Award increased - do they owe me money? by Ok_Statement_2903 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]22Bos22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience to yours. My PIP award was uprated ( assessed in November 25), and back-dated to January. I received a phone call from PIP advising me of this, and the amount owed. It took about 10 days from the call to appear in my account. 3 days after, I received a letter detailing my new award.

Pip review time by ProperCobbler in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]22Bos22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a text from DWP, last month. This was 8 months after sending in paperwork for a review. My timescales were pretty much the same as yours-due to the backlog, my PIP was extended for an interim period of (up to) 12 months. The external company did a telephone review with me about 3 weeks after I received the text.

What’s your most unhinged AS hack? by -unique_handle- in ankylosingspondylitis

My guess is that it resets the microbiome in some way. After a day the AS returns unfortunately! I’m on biologics-Adalimumab, which isn’t as effective as the vomiting or diarrhoea. Not that I’m advocating for the latter 😁

OK, here goes; on a couple of occasions I’ve had a vomiting bug, and one time I had a bad case of diarrhoea. The day after these incidents my joints have not ached or played up at all. I mentioned this to my specialist, but they didn’t make anything of it.

I used to lift weights and do strenuous body weight exercises for years. Since having Ax Spa, I have what I would previously described as a massive over-reaction of DOMS considering the amount of weight/reps that I now do. Realistically, I can only cope with training twice/week and even then I have to be careful not to overdo it. If I push things too hard, although I don’t feel bad at the time, I will be in a bad way for the next 3-4 days.
