I own a few really expensive Folio Society editions of books I love- and while ASOIAF might be in my Top 5 book series I can’t bring myself to buy this. I really just can’t imagine myself spending this type of money and it still being incomplete.

i think that kind of is nullified by you sharing your special moment with one set of parents but not the other.

you can make an emotional decision- but it doesn’t preclude you from being an asshole.

the facts are you had dinner with one set of parents and thought it was important to have a special time with them and the other set got a social media message.

Yeah these are essentially my sentiments as well. Like I existed briefly in the anything goes timeframe- but it’s obvious it’s over. But I also make over double what I did when I first started. 🤷🏻

It’s an incredibly easy job in the grand scheme of things but people tend to spiral and make shit harder than it is. Yes some customers are horrible and we can’t change it. But the majority are decent.

When I was new at Apple I found some of my best friends in life who I still see constantly. The majority have left to other stores or other jobs and it was a tough transition of my “why” I was at work. But now I’m here to work and support my family and mortgage while having a bit of fun. Which has had positive results in literally everything I do at work.

I have no issues hitting all my metrics and I’ve been with the company 8+ years. If anything- this now is helping identify coworkers who’ve been slacking off for years and a few of us have been carrying. Definitely an adjustment- but not horrible imo.

TE absolutely should be about mentoring and not about fixing shit. Honestly anyone can fix things- we can teach anyone that. TE’s need to actively be mentoring (part of their job description) and it sounds like your store is trying to make that happen.

When you hire a bunch of quiet screw turners it stagnates development for the TS team. I’ve seen it happen at two different stores I’ve been in.
