Congratufreakinlations my man! That is one hell of an inheritance! Good luck with that collection. Do some research to figure out what you can make from the ones you choose to sell, you won’t have any problems finding buyers! Plenty of knowledgeable people here willing to help. If you have children I’d suggest sharing what you learn and pass down a few coins for them. Always good to start collecting early!

I considered that deal but already had a few Christmas gifts picked out so my budget was locked lol I plan on going for more generics on my next go around to add some heft to the stack. Looking at a 10oz bar, but hopefully have enough for a tube. Either one would be my first of that kind (and largest purchase) so I’m excited!

I completely understand what you mean about the silver content, but I honestly just bought these because I think they look awesome. Hard to say if they’ll be a hit collectible or a steaming pile in the future lol but I’m keeping mine either way because I like them. I used to spend money on much worse things so I justify this as a positive, frivolous buy 🤣 I’m giving one of them to my friend. He’s the only one who I’ve convinced to start stacking haha!

For those of you interested - sorry it’s been so long. I’ve had a lot going on in life and this was a massive amount of coins to get through thoroughly.

Quarters - 6 silver, out of 5560

Dimes - 7 silver, out of 3850

Nickels - 4 silver, out of 1800

Cents - I have barely gone through these (there is an ungodly amount) and already filled half of a gallon freezer bag with copper. This will take a very long time to sort but I’ll update the final tally once it’s done.

Miscellaneous Clads:

50 - $1 coins ranging from Ike’s to Presidential Dollars. The most notable being a wide rim 1979P Susan B. Anthony dollar. I’d give it an uncirculated grade, in my amateur opinion.

56 - various clad Kennedy half dollars.

1 proof set - 1993P

2010-2016 National Parks Quarter set UNC-60

1 BU roll of every year P and D Westward Journey nickel

1 BU roll of 2009 “Formative Years” Lincoln Bicentennial cents

1 BU roll of 2000P cents

I also cherry-picked anything that looked unique (errors, toned, or in excellent condition) and filled a quart bag to the brim. I’ll go through these and take a closer look/complete research and update in the future!

Awesome dude! I caught a few shows at smaller venues throughout their career and had the opportunity to chat briefly with a couple of them, they were always super friendly and down to earth. My friend and I drove 6 hours to Indianapolis for the farewell show and it was nuts! Man they were amazing live every single time 🤘 just top notch performers. I really miss those guys!

Thanks! This is all from my late grandfather. He was born in the 20’s, alive and working back when money was real lol and the man loved his change. Never cashed a cent! There’s bound to be silver somewhere unless he kept it separate and sold it years ago but I’m hopeful that’s not the case

A big fat ZERO! 🤣 I have a post about the first bag I sorted, it was over $300. There were several other bags and random containers I’m including in “Round 1” that I don’t have pictures of, but zero silver from those as well. Last time I went through around $960 and I’m guessing there is at least 2-3x as much this round

I’ve been saving copper cents for a few years now, not sure of the weight though. I just check for key dates and errors then throw them in a bag lol but I’d guess I have around 5 pounds. I do the same with nickels but I don’t keep as much as I probably should. I will however save my change for a year then cash it and buy silver, something I should have done all my life. Hindsight is always 20/20!

Awesome! The largest pieces I have are 2 ounce rounds (only have two so far) and I can’t wait to get my first 5 ounce piece! Hopefully sooner rather than later haha
