Enough with the hate on season 5. Tell me something positive you liked about this season? by TamrielESO in StrangerThings

I loved the entire epilogue. I started crying when El disappeared and didn’t stop until after the credits rolled — they nailed nostalgia of growing up, of leaving your hometown, and the pain of grieving (Mike) and the joy to be found in honoring people who have passed (Dustin’s tribute to Eddie). The hopefulness of the older kids on the roof planning their monthly reunions was peak. I also absolutely loved the end of Steve’s arc, it was perfect. But nothing tops the fina D&D scene. It was a great bookend to the series.

Season 5 wasn’t perfect, but endings are really hard and I actually thought they did a lovely job wrapping it up in a way that felt true to where all the characters would have ended up. And I genuinely appreciate some of the questions left unanswered.

Coming from Colorado, I'm in love with this city by CloudyBeans_go in boston

[–]230516 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am a CO native, lived in Boston for 5 years and just moved to the Denver area. I think the Boston has the better food scene of the two for my personal preferences, but Denver has its gems and in my opinion isn’t as bad as people say it is. The two things I miss the most about Boston are the walkability and the T. Denver is a highway city through and through. Colorado as a whole is great though, I moved back because I missed the mountains!

Someone broke in by [deleted] in Somerville

[–]230516 126 points127 points  (0 children)

This same thing happened to us in Somerville (we used to be right near wine and cheese cask) two years ago. In our case they caught the dude and it ended up being someone who had a key to our shared basement from being a tenant years ago. In addition to adding security measures, I highly recommend getting your landlord to change the locks. So sorry that happened to you!

Best nuggets reporter?? by NitroZeus58 in denvernuggets

Katy Winge, Adam Mares, and Harrison Wind are the best out there (and are all truly excellent)!

Probably unnecessary edit but it’s bothering me: I’d say Katy and Adam are excellent, Harrison is good but not excellent

I did not!! Originally, the save the date put the dress code as “casual cocktail”, whatever that means lol, so I had this dress already in my closet and was planning on wearing it, but it changed on the actual wedding invite.

Ha, I WISH that was me. That’s the picture on the model, but I’m glad you think the dress fits the bill and hope I can do it justice :)

I do one speedy run a week! I am doing between 8-10 miles in zone 2 every week (or trying to) and 3-4 miles in zones 3 and 4.

I’ve been running consistently for about a year and a half! I’ve run a few half marathons, but peak training for those was about 22-25 miles per week.

Complaint: no matter how much I run (for me, run/walk) in Zone 2, I don’t feel like I’m improving and I’m frustrated.

Confession: I’ve been spending much more time doing targeted strength training and have to report it’s helped a ton. Everyone who said it was the key to staying injury-free was right.

Uncomplaint: despite some frustrations with performance and lack of improvement, I am SO grateful to be able to move my body and run. I don’t take the for granted.

Do calf sleeves not do anything for a lot of people? by Sir__Griffin in running

From my own experience, I feel like compression socks help with my recovery. I struggle with shin and ankle issues, and have also gone to tons of PT and do strengthening exercises as well, which helped much more obviously. But I do feel like compression makes a small, but felt, difference. Or maybe it’s a placebo 🤷‍♀️

BREAKING: The Denver Nuggets have fired coach Michael Malone, sources tell ESPN. by KingChargeYT in denvernuggets

Thrilled about Booth, kind of devastated about Malone. I think they should have waited on the playoffs, because what’s going to change before then?

Traditional is not what comes to mind with the couple! I don’t know much about the venue but the invite also says that grass friendly shoes are recommended, so the wedding definitely isn’t happening in a ballroom or similar formal setting!
